Northwestern Mutual Financial Representative Interview

Posted Jan 6, 2013

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Chicago, IL May 2009 – Reviewed Jan 6, 2013

Interview Details – Although this was the longest, most drawn out interview process I have ever been a part of, I must admit that I appreciated it nonetheless. There were approximately eight rounds of interviews starting with the initial phone interview that covers basic question of why you'd like to work here; A face-to-face interview with the recruiter where you discuss your stregnths and weaknesses, then an on-line assessment to determine fit (this is a scored test that you must pass in order to proceed; You return a third time to meet with the managing director, who then arranges two to three mini-conferences with other representative with varying backgrounds and tenure; If you are still up for it, you meet with the managing director once more who ultimately makes an offer - but not before you meet with Mr. Mictugue himself who has to approve the recruiting team's recommendation to bring you aboard.

Interview Question – The online assessment was the most unexpected. There are no right or wrong answers, just questions or scenarios to determine your work ethic, level of discipline, and entrepreneurial stamina.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiating with pay as this is a 100% commission sales role
