Scientific Associate II Interview

Scientific Associate II
Cambridge, MA

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Novartis in January 2010.

Interview Details – It was pretty straight forward. Standard phone interview one day followed by a half day interview with several group heads.

The questions were standard,. Met with the recruiter who was very nice.

Interview Question – Asked me to go into detail about a paper I had published several years ago.   View Answers (3)

Negotiation Details – They made me a generous offer that I accepted. I didn't bother to counter. It would have been in poor taste given the raise they were offering me.

Scientific Associate II Interview

Scientific Associate II

The process took a day - interviewed at Novartis in January 2008.

Interview Details – approx 10 half hour interviews with one or two people per session. Interviewers were scientists of varying levels in the department and one interview with HR. The questions ranged from technical, describing my research and some personality. Nothing surprising. Expect the usual "how have you resolved conflicts" Wear a suit and be confident.

Interview Question – You published on the XXX disease, how did you apply XXX technique in your research?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I had a 2nd job offer so I was able to negotiate moving expense and about $5K salary increase
