Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 7 weeks)
The corporate recruiting group is highly ineffective and utterly disorganized. Every step in recruiting/interviewing process were scheduled only after my sending followup emails on weekly basis, for 5 weeks, to the corporate recruiter who had stated the next step was 1:1 interviews (and then ignored my emails for 4 weeks!). I would not have bothered sending emails except that I was referred for the position by a Nuance employee and felt compelled to ensure no lose ends on my end. Unfortunately, Nuance's corporate recruiters do not have the same compulsion for no lose ends with an employee referral. In the interviews met some very nice developers/managers committed to their purpose, only one employee was arrogant and full of self which, to me, is indictive of being insecure. While I didn't get the position, am relieved after reading employee reviews on glassdoor. Oh, and I had to followup with the corporate recruiter when she missed her stated deadline for contacting me on next steps to learn I was no longer in the running (I don't think I would have received an email without my following up). Overall, the process earned a D+ in my book, would be an F except for the interviews with employees (who are the plus in the grade) not in recruiting. When a company's indifference is conveyed before employment it usually doesn't improve with employment. I dodged a bullet.
