Interviewed Apr 2010 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 1+ week)
Very thorough - typically 2/3 interviews spanning total of 3-4 hours. Less structured than banks or consulting firms, but you will likely meet upto 5 -7 people in the interviews in some guise.
Aptitude test with a pop quiz on some financial markets knowledge too - ie what is a future etc etc
Depending on what they see on your cv, you will be asked on the spot - server techie will probably be asked to give SQL scripting on the fly or examples of scripting and UNIX commands. People with more financial backgrounds may be quizzed on financal derivatives theory of some kind- ie what is a call/put etc etc

very standard. this company changed its name though. this used to be a decent company until the new management took over and ruined everything. they can't keep talented people and they don't treat their people right. no wonder they lose everyone who's actually worth anything.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Fairfax, VA (took 2 days)
Initially contacted by a recruiter (TAC Worldwide). Through a series of phone interviews it was determined that I was a good fit for the organization. However, the sticking point was the salary. They offered a 6-month to permanent position with a contracting rate that was lower than the salaried position.

There were several phone interviews before in- person meetings with the different teams. The whole process was about five weeks long, and there were also some practical exercises to do at home for further presentation.
