Interviewed Nov 2010 (took 2+ weeks)
Interviewed at two different stores. At the first store I waited for over 2 hours for the manager. He made me an offer, but when I called to accept he said he'd call back and never did. At the other store I was hired immediately.
Was asked all of the "banned" questions (married, kids, health, etc).

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Collierville, TN (took a day)
Office Depot posted a notice announcing the company is hiring at the front entrance to the store. Interested persons must submit an application online via the website, then complete a lengthy online evaluation at the store. Approximately one week later I was invited to interview with the store manager. That session lasted about an hour and the questions were fairly standard. I was offered the position less than a week later.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 1 week)
I applied online, and then called. The guy said my best bet would be to fill out an application in person as well, because that would get reviewed quicker. The next day I got called by an asst. manager to come in and take a personality test (the same day.) I did, and she informed me that if I passed the test, the manager would call me for an interview. The next day he did. A few days later I went in for the interview. Very informal, he mostly gave me info about the company, and how he runs the store. He asked me a few things about my previous jobs, and why I wanted to work there. Two days later he called me in to get drug test papers, and then I got the job :)

Interviewed Dec 2008 in La Quinta, CA (took a day)
Called in for an interview, interview took place in the public area Furniture. Very unprofessional as there was no apparent reason for doing so. Later found out the Store Manager's cabin was super messy, so organization is not existent. Store manager was supposed to contact me three times over the phone, but never occurred so I had to walk in myself and give the interview.
