Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 1 week)
I was contacted from a company recruiter that found my resume on careerbuiler. The initial interview was 1:1 that turned into 1:2 with the manager and person directly above the position I was applying for. Some basic tell me about yourself questions and then some situational questions. The interviewers seemed very interested in what kind of questions I asked. The environment was friendly. Work culture requires a lot of personal responsibly, which could be a good thing.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Roswell, GA (took a day)
It was very easy since I already worked with the company. They needed someone to promote quickly in that particular store. The district manager already knew me and preferred to promote internally as opposed to some other district managers. If I was being interviewed for store manager, it would've been a more difficult process.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Boca Raton, FL (took 2 months)
I applied online and sent a resume to a friend who works for the company. About 2-3 weeks later, HR called me for a phone screen. We reviewed my work history and reasons for leaving each job. The HR Manager called me within a few days to schedule phone interview. I interviewed with the VP and was called about a week later by HR to tell me we would be scheduling a 1/2 day interview with 5 team members (2 HR and 3 marketing). The in-person interview was scheduled a few weeks out. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly by the HR person. She gave me a nice commentary on the common areas and building amenities. The office environment is top-notch. We went to a conference room where she offered me a bottle of water. It was nice to meet in one central location. I did not have to move from room to room for each interview. The first HR interview was typical. I don't recall any specific questions. The 2nd HR interview was tougher. It might have been the toughest one of the day. At one point, I was asked my definition of marketing. I met with the marketing team and the VP. All of these interviews went well. There seemed to be some confusion between the job posting and the team's understanding of the new role. I think this particular department is in transition and has a lot of added pressure currently.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Lafayette, LA (took 1 week)
I called and asked if they were hiring, they said yes. Later that day (after I had applied at other stores) I went to Office Depot and filled out an application (pen and paper). I then took the 100+ computer questionnaire ... I waited two days and then called and asked the status of my application ( I was tipped off by one of the other employees to do this) and the manager wanted me to come in for a face to face interview. Two days later I go, and I was there 10 minutes early... but I didn't see the manager until 30 minutes later. He apologized and told me to go wait for him in the back by the furniture... I did. I waited there for 15 minutes, he then came and informed me that somehow my application was lost and that I fill out another one. I fill it out, turn it in and wait for him to come and meet me... this time its 30 minutes I'm waiting for the interview that was supposed to start an hour ago... the interview itself went well... nice guy, he liked me. I go take my drug test, and he calls a few days later and wants me to come in... I am 10 minutes late b/c of a wreck that jammed up 4 lanes of traffic. I get there and he tells me he needs to reschedule b/c he thought I wasn't going to show up and now he has 5 others that he is interviewing. He assured me he would call the next day. It's been a week and I've heard nothing from him. Which I'm ok with all of this b/c I was hired on by another retail store, one that offered me more.
Interview Questions
I went through the entire hassle of this unorganized interview process for him to wait until the very end to tell me he could only offer me a part time position.
Reason for Declining
The manager couldn't even manage his time within the store. He was late to an interview HE scheduled. Poor communication. I was over qualified for the job to begin with. I just wanted something to keep me busy while waiting for school. I live less than 5 min. away and figured I'd go work.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Personality Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Mar 2009 (took 3 months)
I had 4 interviews as they were in the process of getting another manager. I applied in January and didnt get hired until March, although I was told in the inital interview that I would be hired. I just had to wait until the new manager was in place. I was interviewed by the Assistant Manager, a store manager from another store, the new Store manager and the District Manager. It was a long drawn out process. If another job takes that long to secure, I will look elsewhere.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation. I was offered the minimum for a Department Manager. When asked about a higher salary, they said that every department manager is brought on at that salary, regarless of experience. That was a lie. I was just naive enough to say ok.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test, a Personality Test, a Drug Test and a Background Check.
