I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Office Depot in June 2014.

    Interview Details

Went through 4 different interviews at 3 different stores. They couldn't decide what store they needed me at. Luckily ended up at a store right by my house. Had to go to the Ft Lauderdale store for training for a month beforehand. Training was good and very detailed. Unfortunately the store I was sent to was a complete disaster.

    Interview Questions
    • Typical retail questions. Tell me about a time that you had a huge customer problem and what you did to resolve it etc.   Answer Question

Highball them especially if you have sales experience. I was offered 12 an hour and talked the guy into starting me at $15 an hour.

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Office Depot in June 2014.

    Interview Details

Took two months from the first time I filled out the app to even get called. I took an assessment and then waited another month. I had to reapply, and then I interviewed with the Assistant Store Manager. I was nervous because I thought he was a serial killer. He was very nice, however, and I talked with the store manager. I was hired on the spot.

Bogus interview with typical interview questions but first you have to pass a 30 minute survey. If call backed you have to have a drug test. Just some dress pants and a button up or a polo would be alright for this place. Some people show up in suits and ties and just look ridiculous

    Inside Sales Interview

I applied online. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Office Depot in June 2014.

    Interview Details

This was by all means the most ad hoc interview I have ever had. I interviewed with 3 managers in Austin, TX, all of whom were sitting at the table with me. These three people were the most unenthusiastic, flat and unimpressive people I have ever encountered in a business setting. In the interview, they asked me to tell them about my experience, after which the only other question was, do you have any questions for us? Had I not asked 5 questions the interview would have lasted 5 minutes. That was 30 minutes of my life I will never get back and were completely wasted. The thought of having to work with one of these three drones made me loose interest in pursuing an ISO position at Office Depot.

    Interview Questions

The managers were completely unenthusiastic and devoid of the slightest display of leadership. The most unimpressive managers I have ever encountered.

They call you after you take put in the application. (They prefer online applications). When they call you they will tell you to come in and take an assessment. If you pass you will get a call back to interview most of the time it will be the store manager. I knew on the spot that I had the job. Sometimes they will wait and call you back.

    Copy and Print Specialist Interview

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at Office Depot.

    Interview Details

They're very strapped for copy and print employees, so even if you don't have any experience, there's a good chance you'll at least get an interview. A couple days after I submitted the online application, I received a call from the store manager asking me to come in and complete an online portion, similar to a personality test. I came in with jeans and a t-shirt on, and after completing the personality test, the manager asked if I would like to go ahead and do the interview now. After waiting for about twenty minutes, a department manager ushered me into the break room to start the first interview, which was about twenty minuted. I hadn't prepared at all for the interview, and since I had no work experience, I struggled to relate the work related questions to school experience. The interviewer was pretty casual and liked me a lot, and even though I was nervous, I was able to joke around with her a bit, which seemed to be the deciding factor in getting me to the next interview with the store manager. The store manager asked me a couple more behavioral type questions, but mostly talked about the company. She then asked if I could complete a drug test, to which I agreed. She shook my hand and said she looked forward to seeing me again.

I doubt the interview process is this easy in other locations, but they definitely want someone positive, outgoing, and willing to work hard, and if that shines through in your interview, you'll probably get the job. The store manager has since changed, and he is a bit less casual than the one I interviewed with, but I'd still give this same advice.

    Interview Questions
    • Behavioral questions, pretty easy, but be prepared. Above all they seemed to want someone charismatic. "A time you overcame a challenge" was one I had trouble with.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
The store manager asked me what I expected to be paid. I told her minimum wage would have been fine ($7.25 in Texas) but she offered me $7.75. If you have experience in a copy center you should definitely negotiate for more

was not expecting to get hired but now i am in I am actually sad. Paid is so important to me because that is what us workers need. The interview is easy to get in but don't let them fool you. They will not agree to what they said and paid you as less as possible. It is just barely to minimum

I applied online – interviewed at Office Depot in May 2014.

Phone call from HR; more of a feel you out interview... the HR recruiter then scheduled a 1hr football interview via phone. After that, she's said she would forward my information on to the DM of the district. I got a call from the training store manager a week later and met that same week. A very informal interview; advised would heat from the DM within a week. I wad contacted by the DM - very chill interview.
