Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
I applied online at the OfficeMax website and filled out the application. Within a few weeks I received a call to schedule an interview. During the interview, I was basically asked if I was willing and able to sell extended warranties to which I replied yes.
The manager made an offer of $7.75 per hour to which I accepted. After that, we talked about my future goals, where I was from, and other random topics. The interview was very informal and relaxed and the main thing that manager's are looking for is commitment and previous work experience.

Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation for hourly wage. I was offered $7.75 per hour and it was basically a take it or leave it deal.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Mar 2009 in Cleveland, OH (took 2 days)
First they do a phone interview with the prospective applicants...it is a very structured interview clearly obvious that the manager was reading from a guide...the biggest advice i have for any applicant is do your research on the job description and you will surely get the job.
The face to face interview process is exactly the same as the phone interview they ask you to do a llittle role play with you..
Like the manager asked me to give my best sales pitch to convince him to buy this desk calendar. It was funny but awkward. Nine times out of ten if you get the interview when you walk in they have made up their mind they going to give you a offer. Its all in the matter if you will take the offer.

Negotiation Details
Negotiation I think not. They are firm in there offers its no room for flexibilty.. If you dont like the offer they will take it to someone else who will do the same job and probably for less.
Advice to others in this stage of the offer...be flexible.
