Interviewed Sep 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 4 weeks)
This was a long, drawn-out, somewhat brutal interview process. I met with easily a dozen people in the practice. What started out as a very specific opening for one particular account morphed into a general opening that would be customized for me. It seemed that the senior leadership really liked my background and skill set, but were unsure where to place me. As a result, I came into the office at least five times to meet with different people to see if maybe I would be a good fit for this or that account. While I appreciate that the company wanted to put me in a position that I would enjoy and have the potential for growth, it was frustrating to continuously get emails from HR asking me to come in one more time to meet with one more person. It seemed that they were not respectful of my time and the fact that I was taking time off from my current job to interview.
I took a writing test, submitting references, and then... nothing. I followed up only to learn that while the team was very interested in bringing me on board, they did not have the budget for a new hire. While we are still speaking, I felt misled by the process. I would advice that Ogilvy PR ensure that there is a real need for the position before starting the interview process - while networking and informal interviews are important, expectations should be clear on both sides.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
I was referred by an employee and contacted by HR within a couple of days to schedule an interview. The interview itself was fairly straightforward - mostly questions about my background and PR experience. I met individually with 3 people from the team that was hiring, all of whom were very pleasant. The next day, HR sent me a writing test that I was to complete and send back. (It was rather time consuming and involved putting together a PR plan for a fictional client.) A couple of weeks after I submitted the writing test, I was asked to do a phone interview with a fourth person.
After the final interview, it was another 2-3 weeks before I finally heard back from HR to let me know they had decided to go with another candidate. It seems like a nice place to work, but the interview process was very drawn-out.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Denver, CO (took 6 weeks)
In a nutshell: Horrible experience and I do not recommend pursuing this agency.
Details: I interviewed for an AD position with the Denver office. Senior management from San Fran was involved in the recruiting process as well. Not only had not a single person from the either team read my resume or was familiar with my background, but I was repeatedly stood up for interviews and was send information designated for other employees/candidates. When I voiced my concern about the chaotic process to the hiring manager, the only answer I got was "Well, we just won 1.3 million dollars in business." What a poor excuse!

Interviewed Mar 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
Submitted a coverletter and resume, heard back that I made it through the first round, and had to submit 2 press releases out of a group of topics given to me. Submitted those and heard several weeks later that they wanted to conduct a phone interview with me. Heard promptly after the interview.

Reason for Declining
My interview process was horrendous. It was rescheduled 4 times because the interviewer neglected to call me 4 different times. Each time I was left sitting way for her to call. I never received an apology, despite my unfailing politeness and willingness to work around her schedule. When I finally spoke with a different interviewer it was 15 minutes long and he only asked me one question about myself. I would say that I assume this was a one-time embarrassing mistake made by an agency that is clearly a formidable force in an agency where success is based on people-skills and interaction but I know a number of other people with similar experiences.
That aside, Ogilvy is clearly an impressive shop and my decision was very much based not on their performance in the industry but my own personal experience. I would encourage others to work very heard to secure a job there, just be aware the process may not be as simple as it should.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in New York, NY (took 4 days)
I received an email from HR asking me to come into the office for a 1:1. The staff was very nice, although one of the employees was a little rude. She would cut off my answers. I interviewed with members of the team. They asked detailed questions, not typical to usual interview sessions, but very detailed to the position. The interviews with the hiring manager and President were the same. They all appeared to be a well put together staff. Nice team.

Prestigious company to work for, on-site interview was relatively straight-forward. Many questions involved walking though your resume and going through behavioral questions. Decisions were made quickly.

Interviewed Aug 2009 (took 3 weeks)
I applied for an entry-level position on Ogilvy's website and received a call from HR a little over a week later. The HR manager explained that I would be hearing from an interviewer in the near future to set up a time to interview. A couple days later, I received an email from the interviewer. She gave me several interview times to choose from (the interview was about 4 days after I received her email). The interviewer called promptly and was incredibly friendly. I was very surprised at how little talking I had to do and how much talking the interviewer did. The questions were very straightforward and expected -- what kind of position would you like to have, what are your goals, basic questions about your past employment history, etc... The interview was about 30 minutes long. I heard back from the interviewer by email about 5 days later to learn that they would not be extending an offer to me. They claimed to have had a huge pool of applicants and the process was very competitive.
