Interviewed Mar 2012 (took a day)
(Note: Interview was yesterday morning, but I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the job)
I read the other posts here and felt pretty confident before getting to the interview. I'd say it lasted about half an hour. All of the interviews were conducted on the sales floor, and I was taken into the Children's section. The interviewer asked me about myself first; whether I consider myself a "successful" person, etc. I didn't want to digress at any point, so I just said the most relevant things to the Logistics Associate position. I said I was neat and brought up the whole "good attention to detail" thing. So, she asked me how many mistakes I could notice in the product displays around us and then asked me what I would start working on if I was thrown into that section without any instructions and how I would manage if there were clients. I felt kind of trapped, because I didn't want to insinuate that their employees weren't doing a good job, but, whatever...I guess that's why they're interviewing in the first place. She asked me about working in groups, most recent work experience, about my personal style (for which I gave a terrible answer), what I thought the trends would be next season (study the website, guys!!!), who I thought their biggest competitors are... One of the first questions was actually their date of establishment. I do not how I got that right...(1994). I got asked about best and worst customer experiences, and I went blank for a moment. The hardest part was at the end, when she handed me an Old Navy Card brochure and left me alone for a while to study it. Then I had to "sell" it to her, pretending that we were at the cash register. I really sucked at it. So nervous.
Anyways...I'm surprised at how many questions there actually were. I recommend that you over-prepare, and think of customer experience stories, describing your personal style and inform yourself about the store. I already knew this and my interviewer told me this herself as well, but you should know that Gap and Banana Republic belong to the same chain as Old Navy, as well as the online stores Piperlime and Athleta, so DON'T mention Gap as one of ON's competitors!
Good luck!

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Eugene, OR (took 3 days)
I applied at a job fair and was called in for a 1:1 interview, met with the logistics manager and was asked the usual interview questions plus more logistics focused ones such as can you lift 50 lbs? do you mind getting dirty? are you ok with coming in at 5am? that sort of questioning. there was no test, just basically summed you up and offered you the position on the spot.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Saugus, MA (took 2 weeks)
I applied online. The online part asked you questions about yourself and some questions related to the job. Like they'd show a picture of one section of the store, and ask you what's wrong with this picture. Anyway, I was called for an interview around the next day or two.
The first interview was pretty short. The interviewer is very outgoing, and she made me feel comfortable. She was around 25 years old or something. I told her I can't work early mornings so she switched me from logistics associate to sales associate. After five minutes of answering questions, I had to go out and pretend I was a sales associate. I just simply had to approach customers and kindly ask them if they need help with anything. She mentions how they usually go straight to the interview, but because of a recent loss of a co-worker, the store manager was really busy. So, I was scheduled for a second interview on Saturday.
I come in Saturday to find out that something happened about an hour ago before I came in, so I had to reschedule for another day.
I don't get scheduled till the second Monday following that Saturday. (I think I had a clue I didn't get the job because it wasn't the store manager I was supposed to be interviewed with.) It was another girl probably around the other girl's age. She was more apathetic, though. She basically just reviewed my last interview, and it was done in like three minutes. She said they will call in a couple of days. I call Thursday and find out I didn't get the job.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Columbus, OH (took 2 days)
I applied online and got a call to set up an interview the same day. It was for a store that I didn't originally apply for an was too far away so they told me to call the location near me. I called and the hiring manager was on vacation so they took down my availability and she called when she came back and scheduled an interview. When I got to the store it was very busy so I was told to look around. While I looked around I tried to fix up messed up displays for extra points. My interviewer was very nice and made me feel relaxed. The interview went well and he scheduled me for a realistic job interview. I had to show up and help unpack boxes early in the morning and I made sure to ask a lot of questions. I was told to call the next day and the manager said he would like to move forward and gave me the orientation date.

Interviewed Sep 2010 (took 1 week)
Arrived early to walk around the store (never shopped at Old Navy) until the manager was ready. She asked about previous jobs & school. The questions were more situational ex "When was the last time you gave excellent customer service & what was the outcome?" She explained off the back that it's part time & it wont pay for rent. We were interrupted once when an employee came in the room to grab her purse. The interview was fast & easy. Get a call a week later & was offered the job.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 1 week)
I applied to the local Old Navy in late March for their logistics department but received no response for nearly a month. So I was surprised when they called me in late April/early May and immediately set up a phone interview, which I completed successfully. They then asked me to come in the following week for a 1:1 interview, which I accepted.
I arrived on time and was led to an office, which was around the size of a large closet, by one of the managers. I was told that the interview was simple and would not take long but it felt like forever. Some of the questions were the standard 'name a time when you were unsuccessful' type ones but some I found a little odd and overly detailed. I still don't understand how my fashion sense outside of work would affect my ability to stock merchandise but whatever.
Anyway, five or six pages of questions and over 30 minutes later, I finally left. I was told to call back if I had anything to discuss. The managers & staff that I talked to were friendly & helpful (though I don't think the manager had too much interviewing experience, judging by how he asked the questions) but I had a feeling that it just wasn't going to work out.

Interviewed Jul 2008 (took a day)
I interviewed over 3 years ago, so I don't exactly remember questions. I was called in to interview with General Manager. She asked me several questions about customer service, "Name a time you helped customers?" But if you want to work here, prepare to get ONCs (old navy cards) if you want to get more hours.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 1+ week)
I applied online and had to complete a personality test that asked things about my attitudes towards situations that would arise at work; it also included pictures of clothing and clothing displays, asking me what type of clothing was shown or how many errors were there in the display. I got called a few days later and set up an interview for the next day. I arrived ten minutes early and was interviewed by the guy who does training once you are hired. He asked me about my availability and explained the job to me (I applied for customer service associate but they really needed help in logistics, so I told him I would do either). He only asked me one question about what customer service meant to me and then he told me he would contact me to set up a job shadow. He called me that night and I went in the next morning to do the job shadow for half an hour with a group of other people they were interviewing. He showed us around the back room and the front of the store, explaining what we would be doing. I was called the next day to set up an interview with the store manager for the next week and I had that interview today. It wasn't an actual interview, just him explaining to me what I would be doing, the hours I would get, and the chances of me being kept after the holiday season was over. After we talked he told me someone would call me that day to schedule orientation after they finished my hiring paperwork. It was by far the easiest interview process I have been through and I only answered that one question the entire time.
