Had a group panel interview manager/supervisor and then a 1:1 interview with the VP. Very laid back interview, be prepared to answer questions concerning your resume.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 3 days)
OneWest Bank does not have a very professional process. I interviewed with several people there and had initially a very favorable impression. However, when I meet briefly with the ultimate decision maker, I was brushed aside. Subsequently, I was told I did not get the job. Then a month later, they called back and offered me the position. I was surprised but accepted. The recruiter was to get back to me with details about start date etc. From that point on I was never able to reach her again, and in frustration emailed the head HR person. Someone I had never met with called me back to say there was some mistake, that the person who offered me the job did not have the authority to do so, but I could interview for a different position at 25% less pay. I declined. No apologies offered, no effort to rectify the inconvience. My recommendation - get any and everything this outfit says in writing before even considering a position with them. Very disappointing experience.

Interviewed May 2010 in Santa Monica, CA (took 4 days)
The first person to person interview, the person I was meeting did not show up (Assistant Branch Manager). I was asked to come back the following day for the interview. Second attempt the person I was to see was 45 minutes late to interview me. Interview was very straight forward, easy, and short to the point.

Interviewed May 2008 in Pasadena, CA (took 3 days)
The company first explained the details at the job and look for your personality. The personality they are looking for is someone that can make sales, i.e. build rapport with the interviewing manager. They may ask you to demonstrate your sales skills. But particularly they are looking for someone who could carry on the conversation in a positive manner or someone that can calm an angry customer down. Always smile during the interview because the job requires a "smile on the phone".

Company seemed to be too quick to ask about prior salaries. They seemed to be weeding people out just based on salaries vs. track record. Company was also very slow with telling people their status.
