Interviewed Apr 2010 in Bangalore (India) (took 3 weeks)
Staffing Agency got in touch with me for the position. Based on my go ahead arranged interview with Oracle. Level 1 Interview was with the team member of the marketing organization who gave me a hands on walk through the profile and day to day activities that I would be coordinating. Level 2 interview was with the director of the team. Level 3 interview was with the senior director of the global team. The entire process took around 4 weeks. The last interview was a mere formality and for sake of approval.
Since this is through a stafing agency and for marketing function and frurther more the role is new, this is a contract basis. Usually Oracle hires for its Support functions in contract basis. So please mmake sure you ask all your concerns of it being a contract role and the timelines for it to translate into a permanent hire. Also make sure to ask of your career path and future perspectives.

Negotiation Details
Negotiation was ok. However there is a glitch that i went through given that this is a new role. There is a budget approval for the role. This negated the fact that I have a expectation based on my skill set, my current renumeration. The negotiation point from Oracle's side rested on the budget.
However negotiations are still on.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Bangalore (India) (took 5 days)
I gave my resume to my friends who works for Oracle. Then, after a while I got call from HR about the interview schedule. The first round was telephonic round. Two of them was there in the other end. It was decent and went for around 1hour. Then the next round was scheduled at their office. It went for around 2hours with two people. One guy was asking about my projects while another one prepares the question.
Then the next round was with the hiring manager. It was just a discussion about job profile and about my previous projects.

3. about previous projects (explained on board with block diagram)
Ex: If the pattern(like no_file) occurs at line 200, then lines from 195 to 205 (11 lines) should be added to the output file.

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Bangalore (India) (took 6 days)
For some strange reason I still consider Oracle interview as one of the best though I've attended interviews in comapnies like HCL, Sapient, Nokia, Verizon etc. I had sent my profile through a friend who promptly informed of my call well in advance. When I got my first phone call, I was clearly told what to expect out of the call, how long it will go on and the process that is also being followed to hire. The call went on exactly for 45 minutes as was told in the beginning. The whole conversation was highly professional, went into depth only when required - job specific questions etc. Then a date was set for a face to face interview. In the face to face interview, I met up with my working manager with whom I had a detailed discussion about what to expect out of my job in Oracle, what specifically the group's function is and some light on why I should be joining Oracle. (that was nice). After 2 days, I got a call from my would be manager about confirming my selection and also informed the detailed letter will follow. As promised I got it all and I joined.
Oracle does not have a HR specific interview. The Manager / Recruiter themselves do this which cuts down on the time. Overall, I liked the process that is followed in Oracle for hiring.

Negotiation Details
Yes. I did negotiate on two things. 1 or 2 terms of employment which was not too very happy but that was not possible by Oracle as the company is highly process driven and they could not do much about it. Later when I joined I realised, that it would have been possible. Second thing I negotiated was pay and again, they too tried hard. After I joined I realised that also was possible. The strategy is simple. The company wants to hire the best for the lowest. As for a candidate, there is no harm atleast asking for it. In most of the cases they will consider.

Interviewed Dec 2008 in Bangalore (India) (took a day)
Oracle came to my collage campus for hiring. The selection process consisted of 3 rounds of personal interview in technical domain and 1 personal interview in HR domain. First interview mainly consisted of puzzles and C basics. Second interview consisted of Data Structures and Algorithms (BST, Stacks, Queues, Linked Lists etc.). Third interview round was based on coding skills (how well you can code in C). They were checking syntax and coding style. Fourth and last HR interview was easy. Interviewer asked about my background after looking my resume and that's it.

Interviewed Sep 2008 in Bangalore (India) (took 1+ week)
I had 3 telephonic rounds and 1 on 1 in person interview. The interview were conducted in a professional manner. They asked a mix of technical and analytical questions. Analytical questions were typical puzzles asked in such interviews. They focused a lot on reason for leaving the company and seemed to really make sure that you are not switching just for the salary.
Interview Questions

Reason for Declining
The salary offered was not very high.
