Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Austin, TX Dec 2012 – Reviewed Jan 10, 2013

Interview Details – Interviews
1. HR recruiter
2. Hiring Manager in another state
3. Hiring Manager in another state
4. Hiring Manager for the office I applied for

Before each interview I looked over my behavioral stories and reviewed the company's website. They always wanted to know what preparation steps I had taken and what I knew about Oracle. Mine was a fairly quick process because of hiring a group of college grads to start at the same time and I came into the applicant pool after the interviews started. I also stayed in touch with the HR recruiter to make sure I was moving through the process. They seem to like it when you reach out to them to show you want the job.

Also, review your resume because all of them seemed to focus on different areas of my resume when they asked questions (study abroad, scholarships, experience, and activities).

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Austin, TX Dec 2011 – Reviewed Feb 20, 2012

Interview Details – I thought I did not get an interview because it took a while for them to respond. Turns out they were interested, it was just the end of a quarter. Once I got the first interview, it was about 3 weeks until the second, but after that things really took off. The next interview was with the RM who was really kind and easy to talk. The third was with the District Manager and the next morning I received the job offer.

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Burlington, MA May 2011 – Reviewed May 4, 2011

Interview Details – Applied through school career website, linkedin, as well as Oracle's career site. Received screener phone interview from HR, then interviewed with 3 regional managers, and had a final in person interview with the director of business development.

They acknowledge the fact that they're a great company and have referred to it a couple of times throughout my interview process. Oracle wants applicants who are enthusiastic about the position and company, because they are confident that they can easily replace you with someone else who would be dying for the position.

Interview Questions

  • Last time you disappointed a manager?   View Answer
  • Career goals, where do you see yourself next year, where do you see yourself in 5 years?   Answer Question
  • Why do you want to work in the tech industry? Why do you want to work for Oracle?   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – After speaking with various managers of Oracle, I did not see myself fitting into the corporate culture whatsoever. Corporate culture was emphasized to be competitive, a lot of hard work, with a lack of work life balance. Offer package was also not very appealing - low base salary and the position did not seem to have much room for future promotions.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Minneapolis, MN Oct 2009 – Reviewed Feb 22, 2011

Interview Details – It's about a 6 to 8 weeks interview process. You will do about 2 phone interviews and 3 in person interviews over the course of 2 weeks. You will do a presentation in front of at least 3 people in a conference room. You may do this presentation a couple times for various groups. Super annoying. If they like you, you will no it right away. You will then get a verbal offer. After your verbal offer, you have to wait about 4 to 6 weeks for your official written offer. So, hang tight if you actually want to go through with working for these people. It will be one of the hardest interview processes that you will ever go through for a job that is not worth all of the effort and preparation. Not to mention you have to work downtown Minneapolis in a cube.
