    Manager Role Interview

    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Ordnance Survey (Southampton, England (UK)).

The interview process starts with having to write an exhaustively long covering letter that covers every minutia of the job advert. If you don’t ‘tick the boxes’, your application is immediately rejected by HR. If you’re successful, you have an interview with three people, typically someone from HR and two managers from the group. In my case I interviewed for a role, and thought I did exceedingly well. Unfortunately, the role was given to someone less suitable. I was later told by a friend in HR that the Director and Head wanted me out of Products and were going to make me redundant regardless of what role I applied for. That’s the way it goes at OS.

    Interview Questions

    • I was asked a lot of behavioural questions from HR, and answered using the Situation, Task, Action, Result format (that's what they expect). The other questions were process or technology related.   Answer Question
