Co-Op Software Developer Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at PDFTron.
Interview Details – 2 people screening, 1 HR, 1 Engineer.
Phase 1: Introduce yourself and ~20 short oral technical questions
Oral technical questions include: pointers/references, compliers, GUI etc.
Phase 2: 20 min written questions,
1. write a power(base,exponent) function
2. reverse a string (don't use a buffer, cause I see a smile of the engineer's face after I used a buffer. google the xor method instead)
3. reverse a linked list
Phase 3: Behavioral questions such as
What are your career goals?
What can you bring to the company?
Questions to the interviewer.
Interview Question – Trick! Reverse a string. Answer Question
Software Developer Interview (Neutral Experience; Difficult Interview)
The process took a day - interviewed at PDFTron in March 2012.
Interview Details – Got email for an on-site interview. Went and was given 2 technical questions with 20 minutes on my own to work it out. One of the questions was way too difficult for an interview (in my opinion). Small company and small office downtown. Overall quite a neutral experience, would have been positive if the one technical question wasn't insanely hard given the timeframe (an algebraic parser/evaluator).
Interview Question – Make an algebraic parser/evaluator which takes a string as its input. Answer Question
