Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 3 weeks)
Very stressful overall, after 2 phone interviews, and filling out an extremely detailed application were they wanted to know traffic violations, credit history, etc. They had me interview w/3 different people asking the same questions, over & over, instead of grouping them together. Then they turned me down bec. of "inability to learn", mind you I have 3 degress.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Richmond, VA (took a day)
I was first contacted by an HR person. She was extremely nice and asked very general questions about my background, experience, and future goals. She was not very informative about the specifics of the position but said someone that could explain more to me would call and ask a few more questions. That person, who seemed like a lab technician, asked more technical questions just to see if I seemed to know what I was talking about. They offered to fly me out there, rent a car, and pay for hotel for the one day interview. I accepted. When I got to the hotel, there was a welcome package with maps of the town, a pen and some candy. A very nice suggestion. The interview was with two, very young group leaders. They asked very similar questions to the ones I had already been asked on the phone. Very standard questions, where do I see myself in 5 years, beast quality, worst quality, explain certain methods and protocols I am familiar with. The interview started at 9am and lasted until 2pm. I spoke with three different people. All the questions were basically the same with differences in the methods and techniques questions asked.

Reason for Declining
There appeared to be many young people fresh out of school with not enough work to do. I am not a slave driver but there were 2x the number people goofing off than there were working. Also, I was told that without a PhD, I could only be promoted once. That, to me, was unacceptable since my plan was to find a career not just a job.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Morrisville, NC (took 2 weeks)
I was interviewed by three ladies. All of them asked me a bunch of normal interview questions. On e thing I asked each of the ladies to tell me was what did they like about the company. One of the ladies told me that she like that if an employee has suggestions about a better way to do things that they are open to those suggestions and that the are took into consideration. She also like the benefits and the stability of the company. The second lady told me that she likes the benfits. The thired lady never answered the question.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 1+ week)
Interview included a phone interview first, followed by an in person interview . Met with different empoloyees at PPD and saw the facility. People were friendly and informative through the interview process. I felt they were honest about what the position would include day to day and what a typical work load would include overall. I was happy to be able to engage with different people and hear their impression of the position and how they related to it.

Negotiation Details
In the interview process, I was asked about flexibility with offer, salary, start date etc - I worked with the human resources rep to understand and negotiate terms for the position. After exchange, we were able to agree to terms on the offer and make an agreement.
Overall I found the proces to be natural and comfortable (as much as possible given the stress of interviewing in general).
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed May 2011 in Richmond, VA (took 2 weeks)
Know anything on your resume as they ask very detailed questions about procedures used. They were very nice on the phone and the on site interview. The initial person whom contacted me even gave me a heads up as to what to expect during the phone interviews.
