Interviewed May 2009 in Norcross, GA (took 1+ week)
The interview was conducted by a separate department within the company. It was standard and simple with no real complicated questions. I did not provide a portfolio since I was currently employed by another division of the company.

Interviewed Jun 2010 (took 5 days)
I applied online, then the next day I got an email from their recruiter asking if I would be available for a brief phone interview at 5:30 the same day. I let her know I was available and we set up the interview. During the interview, she basicaly just asked me questions about my background to try to see if I was the right "fit" for the company. Once our 15 minutes had ended, she told me she would be in touch with me.
Kind of left me confused as to what the next process is. Very hard to read.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Norcross, GA (took 2 days)
This company is so ridiculous, they wanted to start paying there collections employees $14.40hr, then they lowered it to $14 and they expect ppl to come in wearing a suit for a position that pays such a low salary, and on a 4mth contract. It was a behavioral interview, and all they stress is how they want to keep there large volume customers, and very little offered to the person interviewing for the job. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! They have a recruiter at The Intersect Group and all he is concerned with looking good for them, and we are the guinea pigs, what we want doesnt matter. Again, dont waste your time with Primedia, nor with the Intersect Group.
Reason for Declining
Ridiculously low pay, management to pushy, and expect to much for something that doesnt even pay $30k a year. LAUGHING IN THERE FACINGS!!

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Washington, DC (took 4 weeks)
1:1 interview with Publisher (GM) where everything was great. Relaxing, professional environment. Able to observe a cohesive "team" atmosphere at the office. I had a soup-to-nuts interview, which culminated with a frank discussion about compensation. Pretty straight-forward process. I had 3+years of outside sales experience, which included both business development and account management. Truly more of a conversation than any sort of point-by-point interrogation. I could sense from observation and interview that this was a great office to work for. everyone was professional, but seemed to maintain genuine happiness. This culture appealed to me, since I worked in yellow pages industry, where evrything was much more cutthroat.
I had one follow-up 1:1 with RM. This was much like the 1st interview in terms of tone, etc. This stage was merely a "rubber-stamp" for hiring Publisher's decision. I would tell others to show confidence & assertiveness, but connect your experience "dots" to their company's needs. The company needs people who can multi-task, with monthly production and sales deadlines. Probably a must to have outside sales experience, since the geography covers metro DC, to include 40 miles NESW of the city. Ability to adapt to different levels of decision makers and influencers -- property level and C-level mgrs.
Overall, this job really is a hidden gem! I didn't have much enthusiasm before my 1st interview, but walked away with a working offer & knowing this is where I wanted to work. They provide all the necessary tools to succeed, including laptop; mobile, wireless internet access; blackberry; state-of-the-art digital camera; expense account and good support team
