Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
Went in for a group interview for the holiday season, there were about 7 other people other than me. We interviewed with one of the store managers and she was really nice and tried to make us all feel comfortable. She asked us the usual "tell us about yourself" and "why do you want to work here?". She then asked about 5 additional questions and we went around in a circle to answer. Overall it was good, but be outgoing and answer honestly!

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Orlando, FL (took 1 week)
Alright, so about a month ago I applied for a job at Pacific Sunwear (Pacsun), walked in the store, asked for an application and that exact day I returned back and gave them my resume. It took about 4 weeks for them to accept me into joining a group interview, but before that I called every monday because that's when the hiring manager is in, asking them if interviews were being held yet or if they were still looking applications over. Finally after being patient I got called in for the interview and it went extremely well. The group interview consisted of various questions, but started off as a "Tell me about yourself" kind of situation which I thought was wonderful, she made me feel very confortable. Asking us questions about other clients that we worked with, even though this would be my first job, I related the question to a past experience I had with being the client. It was very laid back, and she wanted me to come back to the store to meet some of the workers afterwards. She said I looked like the type of person that would work there and understood I recognized the company for what it was, brilliant. We both shared a connection almost suddenly about Pacsun. I honestly didn't want the interview to end. It's been a day since the interview and she said she would call me Hopefully Monday to let me know more about the Job. Any advice that I would put out there about an interview is, BE YOURSELF. No question about that, they're not strict unlike other jobs, they want you to feel comfortable with your surroundings. If you really want the job, show them exactly that.

Interviewed May 2010 (took 2 days)
Very basic, but also reflective of the PacSun lifestyle: beachy & fun! Hiring Manager was very easy to talk to and also happy to meet with me. I only met with one manager, which made it less stressful. They followed up with me via telephone and then I started shortly after.

Negotiation Details
No negotiation, minimum wage. I suppose if I were to be hired for a higher management level position, there could be some negotiation as far as hourly wages.

Company needs better structure for the interview process. It seems mostly friends are considered and hired.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Coralville, IA (took a day)
The interview consisted of many questions. Some were about how to act in a certain scenario, while some were about personality. Then there were random ones about interests. The actual store was really mellow and had nice workers. The interview was one on one
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Too many random questions, not much about the store. also did not like the manager.

Interviewed Jul 2010 (took a day)
I came in 5 minutes early and was told to look around the store till it was actually time for my interview. Went to the back for a 1:1 interview and was asked a series of questions. It was pretty laid back and the assistant manager was very easy to talk to.

Very easy. The manager and I hit it off right away and we talked more about our similarities than what my goals were as a PacSun sales associate.
