    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Paladin Security Group (Toronto, ON (Canada)).

    Interview

I got called about a week after I sent in my application online. The girl asked if I wanted to come to their downtown HQ for an interview the very next day, so I said yes and rearranged my schedule accordingly. I arrived 20 minutes early but as soon I got into the waiting room, the receptionist gave me a clipboard and I immediately started a grammar and written comprehension assessment. That took longer than I expected, and I had to write an incident report. I waited around once I was done than got interviewed by someone who wasn't in HR, but was helping out because their team was busy. He was the branch manager or something. Either way, he had a pretty unconventional way of conducting interviews. He looked over my application and resume and had me just talk about myself while he read. I was talking about myself for at least 5-10 minutes straight without him saying a single word, just nodding and stuff. After that, he basically just told me about Paladin and why he feels passionate about the company and whatnot. He didn't ask me any questions, no "why do you want to work here?" "what makes you a good fit for this job?". He just looked at my resume and based off of what I was saying, said he would make his recommendation to hire me. But I stayed in that interview room at least 10 minute longer just discussing the company and future goals. He was very conversational and open. Overall, a very different experience - but very positive. I doubt most other interview at Paladin go this way.

    Interview

3 interviews with three different people. Awful experience. Seemed that they are not hiring a Security Guard, but a Vice President for the Company. Told that I would have to undergo 4 days training, but didn't tell that it will be an unpaid training for FULL 4 days.

    Negotiation

Ask them about the wages before they hire you OR you sign the contract. Ask for a copy of the contract. Just don't be scared.

    Interview

A fairly straightforward process. I was given about 20 multiple choice questions on English grammar and a short narrative to write. After this I had three consecutive interviews; the first to tell me about the position, the second to ask about my experience and qualifications and the third to ask some more searching questions about my personality.

    Interview

I applied, filled a questionaire online. Went in for an interview within that week (even showed up late!) yet they were still kind. The process did take two hours (instead of the one hour or so I was expecting) but I was basically hired on the spot.... and thats a common story for most people. The hiring process is very kind and very good!

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Paladin Security Group (Calgary, AB (Canada)) in September 2012.

    Interview

I had to complete an on-line application and then got called by the office to attend for a personal interview. The on-line application had an english test and asked the usual biography stuff. At the office I met with the recruiter and had a 1/2 hour interview. I was told that my references would be checked and I'd be called later with the results. About four days later I got called to meet with a manager for a second interview. The manager aksed me a few questions mostly about my background and what I wanted to see from the company. He said I was pretty much hired but he wanted to make sure I fit where I was going to be assigned.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Paladin Security Group (Calgary, AB (Canada)) in May 2010.

    Interview

I initially applied on-line when I was looking for work in a different Security Company and was sold on their advertised commitment to training. I was contacted by an HR representative within the week and given a quick phone interview with some basic questions and set up with a proper interview with the Client Service Manager. Upon arrival to the office, I met with the HR Rep and was treated very cordially and given a quick run-down about what would be involved in the Healthcare Contract, as well as some perks and benefits for working with the company. I was directed to the CSM's office and had an interview approximately half an hour in length which covered everything from my history, skills, career aspirations, and personality. I was impressed with the process and was made to feel like my skill set would be a welcome addition to what I perceived was a professional outfit. I was hired that day and given an orientation meeting that day with a number of other new hires. We were given a presentation on the company culture and copies of the employee manual which was well laid out and answered a fair number of questions that we had. We were also given the paperwork for submission to the municipal police department to get our company security licences. (Back before the current Security Services and Investigators Act of Alberta came into effect). I was impressed the whole process and the lack of waiting that I had to endure before starting with this company.
