Interviewed Jan 2012 in Lake Forest, CA (took 2 weeks)
A pretty simple process with regard to the position. Director was located in a different office location. 1st phone interview was HR driven - simple questions regarding background, experience, position of interest, etc. Explanation of benefits and corporate structure, etc.
A couple days later had a call from HR to schedule the interview - which we agreed would be the next day.
Next day - phone call from Director as he was in another office location. Questions related to experieinces in Program Management and what experiences I brought that woud transition over well or what I could do within the organization to work within the current processes or improve them.
I would suggest that knowing someone within Panasonic will certainly help get you the interview. Personal references go a long way in positions.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Lake Forest, CA (took 3 weeks)
I was approached by Panasonic for a systems engineering position. I was asked to write system requirements for an incremental capability to their In-flight entertainment system with a 1 day turnaround. They were satisfied with my product so they brought me in for an onsite interview and most of the questions were about requirements management and my systems engineering and software engineering background. I got the sense that they weren't very experienced with proper requirements analysis and systems engineering in general but they were the only ones actively recruiting me at the time so I took the position.

Negotiation Details
I was given an offer but the engineering grade and the salary was lower than I expected so I requested an increase in both. That delayed the process significantly because a VP had to sign off on a new offer.

I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Lake Forest, CA (took 2 weeks)
I applied for this position posted in their careers section and a HR contacted me via phone and asked some standard elementary engineering questions(around 10 questions, which are simple and straightforward).
Then the HR setup a phone interview with the Engineering panel. The panel asked some questions based on the projects listed in my resume, which I answered well. They mentioned someone from the team would contact me in 2 weeks if they were interested. Haven't heard back from them since then.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Lake Forest, CA (took a day)
Interview was fairly simple, with questions on my past project experience , and some questions in programming languages, The interview also had some questions on tackling various scenarios that a person may encounter during the course of work.
This was not a permanent position so the hiring manager did not exhaustively ask technical questions.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Lake Forest, CA (took a day)
First step was a phone call during which the HR person asked some easy background and logistical questions (are you willing to relocate, why are you leaving previous employer, etc.). On a different date I interviewed 1:1 with the person who would be supervising this position. They asked basic open ended questions: how well do you know excel, tell me about yourself, describe the experience you've had with financial analysis, etc. There were no specific right or wrong answer questions which made me unsure of how well I did during the interview. Overall I got a positive impression of the position and the corporate culture there.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Irvine, CA (took a day)
This is a very odd company. They seem to have 500+ people on staff to do a kiosk-based airplane service, and they apparently make a lot of money doing it. They are constantly trying to hire test engineers with 30+ years of industry experience. They were looking for a skillset that I said I didn't have a great deal of experience with, so the interview abruptly ended. There is something weird here, I think though.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Lake Forest, CA (took a day)
I worked with the conract personnel recruiter from a referral. The company was hiring a lot of contractors. I applied to a position advertised on both monster.com & the company web site.
At the interview, I spoke with 4 people, 1 at a time, starting with the contract personnel recruiter, then other project managers in the group, & then the hiring manager of the group. The whole process took about 2 hours. The people in the group, i.e. excluding the recruiter, did more talking than I did. The manager appeared to be somewhat uneasy or pre-occupied. Another person in the group was kind of detached in the process.
