After a preliminary phone call with a recruiter, I had a 1 on 1 interview with the hiring manager. After that I was brought in to meet with two of the managers i would be working for, and since the third one was traveling at the time, I was brought back in a second time to meet with him seperately

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Blaine, MN (took a day)
I am currently an intern at PTC and interviewed for another team. The hiring manager contacted my manager who contacted me. I had three people interview me, the team manager and two senior team members. Two were in the room with me while one was on the phone in a conference call with us. During the interview, the two technical questions were: follow a stack trace and what do these SQL statements do, and what could you do to improve the performance.

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 3 weeks)
I interviewed in the summer of 2007 and found the first two interviews excellent. PTC moved me quickly through the interview process, I liked the people, and the opportunity felt like a great fit.
At the end of the interview process the experience became uncomfortable. Very little was asked about my fifteen years of experience and accomplishments. I was troubled by many repeated questions about my high school career more than twenty years ago. There was a lot of emphasis on whether I played high school sports, questions about how I planned my future (in high school), and not so subtlety the questions about my family and their background.
When I shared that I chose military service prior to college, the interviewer was in disbelief. He was so confounded about my decision to serve the country that he returned to that subject several times. There were many repeated questions about college selection, and why I chose attend state universities instead of private universities - for both a bachelor and master degree.
Interestingly, I was given a thumbs up and moved forward to a final telephone interview with top leadership in the sales organization. The conversation cemented my suspicions that something was not right. PTC did not move forward with an offer which was no surprise. The corporate recruiter said senior management felt they can do better. All this after four interviews and a background check.
Perhaps my experience was a one-off. Maybe PTC is a great organization filled to the roof with veterans and state university graduates; I don't know. What I do know is this company is not a good fit for me.
Ironically PTC contacted me in the spring of 2011 to see whether I wanted to interview with them. They said I had a great background.

The interview was good. Intensity was on the basics. Interviewers were friendly and cooperative. There were 2 written tests followed by a panel interview and a Manager round. A customary HR round concluded the process. Got the offer in 5 days

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 2 weeks)
Contacted through email by HR about setting up a phone interview. Phone interview was relaxed and went well, moved on to in person interview with two upper management figures. Interview was very positive, but they did ask a lot of questions over an hour about my experience with working on a team. It was hard to figure out what exactly I may be doing in the position, but they were extremely friendly and basically offered me a job at the end of the interview, but unofficially. Still waiting to receive an official job offer.
