I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Parker Hannifin.
Interview Details – I applied through their website. I was then contacted by their recruiter for a phone screen. The recruiter asked the typical background questions, as well as, how much you make in your job. She then forwarded my resume to the hiring manager for a phone interview. Manager spoke about the position, the division and what's expected. The manager also asked about my background. I then moved on to a five panel in-person interview. The panel consisted of the hiring manager, HR director, future co-worker and a couple of other staff from different departments. They took turns in asking behavioral questions, as well as, a couple of task specific questions. The interview lasted about an hour and they also gave you a chance to ask questions. The next step would have been a second interview with upper management. However, I did not hear from them regarding any status for a few weeks even though I followed up weekly. Finally, their recruiter called me and explained to me that they decided to go a different route. I appreciated their taking time to call me and provide status. It made me want to keep applying to work for them.
Interview Question – I thought I was prepared for the panel interview but it can be intimidating, especially if it's in a small conference room and you're sitting at the head of the conference table. To me, it was a bit claustrophobic. There wasn't a hard or unexpected question but just getting use to the interview environment. Answer Question
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Parker Hannifin in August 2011.
Interview Details – The interview process is one that is simple to say the least. If one were to stick to the basics of strengths, weaknesses, and why you want the position, then you will be fine. There is no doubt that this company is looking for someone to do the job and to do it well, not for someone that is going to lead the people of tomorrow.
Interview Question – The questions were rather simple. If I were to state a question with the most difficulty it would be coming up with a scenario where you resolved a conflict or how you reacted to both parties involved. View Answer
Negotiation Details – I would have anyone that gets an offer to ask for more, seeing is that any company that likes to make money will try to give you less initially.
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Parker Hannifin in September 2011.
Interview Details – I was interviewed while in college. I did a pre-interview over the phone and then I was asked to come in and interview at the HQ in Cleveland. I sat down with 4 different managers to interview with. Each had a different goal for their interview. The first 2 were with the team that I was interviewing to be a part of. The second 2 were on separate teams but likely reported back to the hiring manager. I received a call within a week that I had been hired.
Interview Question – The interviews were not especially difficult but they were repetitive. Between the 4 interviews, 3 of them involved answering the same type of behavioral questions and it became difficult to find fresh examples. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation
