Mental Health Interview

Mental Health
Dallas, TX

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Interview Details – Hiring manager asked all the questions. The head unit nurse asked very few questions and I was unable to get an idea if I would want to work for her.

Interview Question – All questions were as expected but I felt like they were looking for someone with less direct experience so they could train them the way wanted.   Answer Question

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Parkland Health & Hospital System in October 2013.

Interview Details – Once you pass an Access/Excel assessment, a recruiter will call you to discuss basic education/career information and invite you on site for 1-on-1 interview with the hiring manager. Next interview is another assessment on Access & Excel applications. Lengthy process!!

Interview Question – Do not apply if you are not fluent on Access or Excel operations. With two assessments, you will not be able to fool anyone.   Answer Question

Registered Nurse Interview

Registered Nurse

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Interview Details – I applied for a NICU nurse position in 2004 and had the worst interview. The interviewing nurse read from a script and used a "narrator" type of voice with a bouncy cadence that was so distracting I could not focus on the content of the questions she asked. It stands out as the worst interviewing experience I've ever had.

Interview Question – I cannot recall due to the terrible method of asking the questions.   Answer Question

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Interview

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Parkland Health & Hospital System in February 2013.

Interview Details – Interview process was strange. For offering the position after I interviewed It really did not seem as if hey were even interesed in me.

Interview Question – Management during the interview process was polite and well coordinated. Staff were somewhat rude and wanted to know what I was going o do for them if I got the job. It was as if they were more interested in themselves rather than hiring a good candidate.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation on salary o benefits. But it was a fair ofer.

I applied through other source and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Interview Details – There is no consistency in the hiring practices (depends on department and job). Just like other organizations, the hiring process can take a long time, and the online application will probably get lost. I had panel interviews. In spite of how well I responded in the interview, it was totaly subjective. One person out of several did not want to hire me and was outnumbered. That is the same person that took every opportunity to make my life a living hell.

Interview Question – It was supposed to be a behavioral interview with a focus on my emotional IQ, but they didn't know how to perform the interview (which can be disasterous for the candidate). But, I didn't find any of the questions difficult; just make sure you can state examples of how you would act/react in various demanding work situations and that you emphasize your commitment to work as a team player. If you follow the interview recommendations of job sites, you should do fine.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation. I was basically told by HR (in a nice way) to take it or leave it.Other departments may handle negotiations differently.
