Initially I was contacted by a head hunter, where there was a 2 step face to face interview. I was asked to undergo a personality test, and was also briefed about the opportunity. Quite a detailed brief was given. The role was to sell software services for one vertical that the company was expnading its services in.
Next I had a telephone interview with the business unit head. He was very clear that he was looking for somebody who had sold to very large organisations. he wanted somebody who could bring the internal team together to present a compelling solution to the prospect. He was open about his expectations

It basically depends on the interviewer who interviews you and the urgecy of the position, for which you are being interviewed and also your previous employer.
The guy who questioned me was pretty cool and the interview also was carried on very smoothly, with out many in-depth questions. I felt like, there was huge and urgent requirement with the project, which this interview is meant for. He asked some basics and my first Technical Round was completed within 15 minutes. And i was pretty confident that, i will be selected for the next round, with the way i answered him.
Then i had to wait 4 long hours for my next round. That was the PM round and he again talked about my stuff, previous project and to my surprise he started negotiating my salary, which i quoted in the form and he finalised it to 5 lakhs, my current salary being 3.8 (working with TechMahindra with an exp of 3 yrs).
I thought I will have another round of HR interview, where i thought of discussing about my package.
But they have sent me the offer directly without HR interview the next day.

I had been to Patni walk-in. There was too much rush. Question were asked on basics. JAVA,EJB,JSP,Servelt,Spring,Hibernate etc. I answered most of them. Don't know why I didn't get selected.. :)

The interview consisted of 3 rounds.
The first round was an aptitude round. People clearing this round made to second round which was Group discussion.
After passing through the GD the next round was personal interview. The round was a combined Technical + HR round.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 2 months)
I found out about the job from dice.com and asked a friend to refer me to the company.
They contacted quickly, but scheduling the interview took a long time.
After a HR screening I was setup for a technical phone interview.
There were phone discussions with higher management.
They took more than a month to give me the offer.
Even after the offer was given the join date was another month in the future.
This was done to cut costs and not have me on the payroll before I'm billed to the customer.

Negotiation Details
They low-ball you and offer a lesser salary with no negotiation. I don't know if they can afford a higher salary, because their billing rates are not high enough.
