Interviewed Oct 2011 in Emeryville, CA (took 2 weeks)
Initial communication was by email with friendly and attentive HR staff. An in-person interview was scheduled within a few days. I went into the Emeryville office for multiple one on one interviews with three of the dev team members, an IT PM, and the VP over IT. (5 total interviews in ~4 hours) Surprisingly, no technical questions were asked during and of the interviews. I was given a laptop, Visual Studio, and some time to complete a very basic skills test. An offer was extended by HR the next morning.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
After spending one on one time with dev team members, they each made it clear that they were unhappy with their jobs for multiple reasons (project manager, technologies, pay, etc). Essentially, I declined their offer due to the depressing team morale and work environment, old technologies, and the offer was well below the market rate and was ~20% below what I was being paid at my current position. I left the interview feeling bad for the current development team and I really appreciated their honesty.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Skills Test.

Interviewed May 2011 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
Upon arrival, manager pulls out application, a quick greeting takes place and both sit in a private spot together. Manager gives a small overview of the company, then the questioning takes place. Some questions that were asked were: What experience do you have in this type of industry? How would you introduce yourself? Do you get along with employees (teamwork)? What is your current job?, A scenario is given and one must prioritize duties in that scenario. Describe a problem with another employee, what procedures were taken and what was the outcome? How would one up-sell a product? Description of any qualities that one possesses that one can bring to the company. REFERENCES WILL BE CHECKED, so have some good ones.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
Manager will propose minimum wage ($9.92 in San Francisco) and try to settle it by average amount of tips earned per hour ($3-4). If you have experience, and know the market rate, propose that rate. Apparently, they can only give you $9.99. If you are good at haggling, try and settle for $10/hour.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Pleasanton, CA (took a day)
I had applied to Peet's three weeks ago. Then I got a call on Thursday to come in for an interview with the Store manager. So I went in around 5pm on a Sunday. The store manager was very friendly and gave me a free cup of coffee.
We sat down and chit chatted, she asked me very basic interview question. Figuring out whether I had availabiliy, how long I might stay and work there and whether I could communicate well. She also talked a lot about herself and her vacation plan.
She told me she was going away for a week for vacation and won't be able to let me know until she came back next Tuesday/Wednesday. In addition, she couldn't set up another interview because the assistant manager wasn't there. So I waited. Three days past that Tuesday or Wednesday; I never got the call back.
Perhaps, I did not make it to the final interview. Or she simply had too much fun during her vacation and forgot about her interviewees. However, I am not disappointed at all because I got a similar job somewhere else.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Hayward, CA (took a day)
Applied in person, got a phone interview a week later. Interview consisted of questions like: What do you already know about Peet's and why do you want to work here? Give a time when you had a positive customer experience. Pick a product and sell it to me. What kind of environment would you like to work in? Why did you leave your last job? Do you have any future commitments that will get in the way of working here?

Interviewed Jun 2008 (took 4+ weeks)
Extremley long and disorganized. The HR office tells me to call and then they don't return the call. They are somewhat rude in HR too. Had to interview with 6 different people!

Interviewed Apr 2009 in Orange, CA (took 6+ weeks)
The entire process started with an appointment at a job fair. From there, I received a phone interview which was quite lengthy (say about 45 minutes) and then it was followed by 2 in person interviews. They were different levels of managers on different days. The entire process easily took 45 days and then they waited 3 weeks after my job offer to start.

Negotiation Details
They can not pay any higher than I received, so I would suggest making sure you reach the highest salary you see .

Interviewed Feb 2010 in San Ramon, CA (took 2 days)
The Regional Manager that I interviewed with was very knowledgable of the process and product. I was made to feel at ease with him and had no problem connecting on a communication level. I felt that the location could have been improved upon. Sitting inside the store with other employees and customers around was not ideal. The interviewer was looking for very specific answers and told you immediately how my answers measured up.

I found the company and the interviewer very personable. I was not really a match for the position and I got communication from the company informing me of this. That is what I would expect, so I was satisfied.
