Interviewed Jul 2010 (took 2 weeks)
The initial phone interview was HR based and contained personality weed out type questions. There were some technical questions but they were of a benchmark nature and not technically detailed.
The onsite interview was mostly a presentation of the applicant's choice that served as a template for questions about technical competancy and customer soft skills

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Shawnee, KS (took 6 weeks)
First was a phone screen with HR recruiter from the company. She asked very general questions to make sure that I passed the screening test. After a week plus, she called me in for an in-person interview with the hiring manager, along with the engineering director and VP.
During in person interview, the focus was 2 part. First part was to make sure that you can do the job,, and second part was to make sure that you fit in the company culture. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Lenexa, KS (took 3 weeks)
Very surprising how loose and uncertain the whole process was. The recruiters that were calling seemed to get their wires crossed on who was calling. I talked with one and set up an appointment, then the other one called trying to set up an appointment. At another point, after I had had the initial interview with the human resources person, there seemed to be a disconnect so I called back in. They had down that they had tried to reach me but I had not responded. As far as I know, nobody had called or emailed me. The second interview was an elimination process with a two sales managers on a speaker phone. I was informed "The way this works is we spend ask questions and then you have 10 minutes at the end to ask us questions..." Very mechanical. No small talk allowed. No room for conversation. I don't know how they hoped to learn anything.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 days)
I was first contacted by an inside recruiter who subsequently scheduled a screen interview with another recruiter. The screen interview was standard questions. Afterwards they indicated that they would be arranging a phone interview with the hiring managers ASAP. A couple of weeks went by with no word. I attempted to contact the screener with no response. I finally contacted the first recruiter and was contacted by the screener a couple of days later and a phone interview was arranged.
The phone interview lasted almost an hour and consisted of two people, one of whom had to leave early on. Good probing questions and a good flow to the conversation. All in all it was a very pleasant conversation that ended with that they would get back to me soon. They never did. Out of curiosity I reached out to the screener several weeks later who's email directed me to another. That person indicated that they had selected another only after I asked.
I have read similar reviews about Perceptive. They go to great lengths on their website to describe themselves as a company that treats their employees fairly and ethically. However, if they treat their job candidates in such a discourteous manner, I wonder how they treat their employees. Experience tells me that they are typically on-in-the-same.

Interviewed May 2010 (took 8 weeks)
I have a lot to say about Perceptive Software but I will keep this brief. Sometime around May of
last year I saw a posting on Careerbuilder for a Product Support Engineer. I applied for the position
a few days later I received a phone call from HR.
* Had phone interview, went well
* was ask to come in and take written test, did well
* was brought in for face to face interviews with 2 team leads, went very well
after speaking with the 2 leads I interviewed with their manager, went OK
I was given the .. we will let you know in about 2 weeks line ..
* 3 weeks later I had not heard I contacted the HR person and was told that they are
still in the interview process but I was still in the running, they would be in touch
* 2 weeks later still no work, I contacted HR and was told that the managers were out of town
on business.
* Another 2 weeks still no work, once more contacted HR and was told they will be making a
selection soon, I was still in the running
* About 10 days later I receive an E-mail saying that they were moving on with another candidate
* I have noticed that the same job posting still runs about every 2 - 3 weeks on the job boards.
** Any current or former employee care to offer any input? ***

Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 1 week)
After submitting my resume I was brought in to take a written skills test of a language of my choosing. This was not difficult. It consisted a implementing a small program made up of several classes. Drawing from knowledge I gained in my college career, I was done in 45 minutes without any trouble.
A week later I was brought in for a face to face interview with four managers on the development side. At first I thought they were friendly enough, and was looking forward to a more laid-back interview than your typical run-of-the-mill interview. But they became, in my opinion, unprofessional, and borderline-malicious at times. Friendly chat from the managers turned into inappropriate jeering at times. Such as insinuating that I'm lazy in college for the entire interview even after I explain my circumstances. Joking or not, this is not professional for a first time interviewee. Though I handled it well, and thought I showed that I could interact well with fellow employees and managers, I came out of the interview disappointed that I wasn't given a chance to express my actual practical skills for the job positions at hand.
Overall, I would say that the interview process was not particularly difficult, though it was different from any other interview I've had in the development field. Find a way to showcase your practical skills in a casual, social way, and don't lose composure if things start to seem less than professional.

Interviewed May 2010 in Shawnee, KS (took 2 months)
More or less it was a waste of time, they kept saying that they were still in the process of considering. Two months later, I got an email saying that they were perusing other candidates. Luckily I had already found another job by then, Its a long time to wait when they tell you they'll make a decision by the end of the month.

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Lenexa, KS (took 2 weeks)
Submitted an application on the company's site. Received a call back asking to set-up a time for a phone interview. Had the interview as scheduled, however I found out during the interview that there were some additional qualifications they wanted which were not posted n the position description online. The call lasted maybe 20 minutes.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Shawnee Mission, KS (took 3 months)
Began the interview process with trading phone calls In November with HR. Got invited in December to come in for a basic test consisting of scripting logic, how I would respond via email to a costumer, and questions over other basic IT knowledge. After this, I was invited back to talk to my would be bosses, who were really nice, and seemed to have a personality match with. Was told to wait about two weeks and would hear back from the HR rep. Two and half weeks later into January had to call back and was told by the HR rep that I would be offered a position but didn't want to commit to that, and also that I was second on their list to fill a couple of positions available, and I should wait two more weeks. Asked if I could be bumped off their list at this point, was told no, could only be bumped down. Two weeks passed, no phone call, come to find HR rep is ignoring any inquiries.
In a nutshell, people seemed nice, interviews were relaxed and be prepared for a general IT quiz. Take any word from their HR with a grain of salt.
