Interviewed Jan 2012 in Clarksville, IN (took a day)
Well, I had an interview at Petsmart today and it went very well. :) I went in and the salon manager and the floor manager took me to the conference room. The salon manager asked most of the questions and the floor manager added things here and there. Both of them were incredibly nice and made the interview very comfortable. I was asked questions like why petsmart, how do you deal with difficult customers, etc. Then at the end of the interview I was asked to take a drug test tomorrow at the labcorp and also asked to come in this Thursday for an interview with the store manager. I feel very confident about it all and I'm really hoping I did well. The salon manager also gave me a tour of the salon which was very nice. :) All in all it was a very good interview! I think since I was asked to take a drug test and come back in that I hopefully got it.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)
The manager was extremely nice, even though, in the end, I was not hired. It really looked like a fun place to work, at least for someone who loves animals. Everything looked very clean, both in the office and around the pet hotel. The manager asked the basic interview questions, such as what your response would be to an angry customer. There seemed to be a lot of questions, but they were not difficult. I do not think the manager even had to come up with the questions - s/he just went down a long list.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Phoenix, AZ (took a day)
All applications must be submitted online, but I also drove to the physical store location I was interested in and dropped off a resume and cover letter for a manager. Whether this was related or not, I received a call the next day asking when I could interview. I scheduled a time for the following afternoon. The interview was casual and friendly, and I was asked several hypothetical questions about how I would respond in certain situations, such as if a customer asked for a product I was unfamiliar with, or behaved strangely, etc. They also asked me what I felt my biggest flaw as an employee would be, so be prepared with something clever, like "I'm a perfectionist." Overall, very laid back and brief, though. I felt like they were mostly interested in a smile and a good personality.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 2 days)
The interview wasn't horrible. It was very casual with the store manager and sales manager. They promised me 20+ hours a week and that I would be cross trained as a cashier so I could get 20+ hours a week and that never happened. You should negotiate and get promises put on paper and signed.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 3 days)
I applied online over on a Saturday and got a call back within the week. We arranged an interview for a few days later. I went in about ten minutes before my interview and the manager was able to see me right away. She asked the basic questions and then some pet care related ones. She asked about my comfort level with the different animals, and I was a little nervous because I let it slip that I don't really like lizards. I corrected myself and said I could still work with them and have handled them before - I just don't like them. The total interview was about 20 minutes, and then she said they'd call around the end of the week. I got a call on Wednesday with a job offer. I went in to get the paperwork for the drug test the following day.

Interviewed Feb 2009 (took 3 weeks)
they call you on the phone and do a brief pre screening, then they set up a face to face with DM's and there is a final interview with the HR or Regional Manager. After running background checks and drug test they call you for paperwork and training.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
They called me pretty quickly for an interview, I was excited and schedule an interview with them. I had a one on one interview with an incompetent manager. He asked me the general questions, he was a tad rude. Apparently they are not looking for goal oriented people. It was generally an extremely odd interview. I ran out of there.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
I applied on line and then tailored my resume to the position. I dressed well and stopped by the store and asked to meet with the Pet Care manager. I gave her my resume and in a sentence or two told her my credentials because she was busy. Less than a week later I was called in to interview with the Pet Care manager and then the Ops manager. I was scheduled to come back in to interview with the store manager. After speaking with him for about 15 minutes, I was given paperwork for a drug test and signed consent to background check. It was all pretty standard. As soon as the drug test and back ground screen I started the training process -- 2 weeks shadowing petcare associates.

Negotiation Details
No not at that level. It does not pay very well. I starting at $8.50/hr. But the work with the pets is rewarding.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 1 week)
I applied to Petsmart online and the next day i was called to come in for an interview a week later. When I went, i was interviewed by a woman who was very nice and laid back. She asked the first question and after I answered, the interview became more like a conversation. Her phone rang during the interview, but I didn't mind, and she was kind enough to apologize and ignore the call. This was my first job interview I've had, so I appreciated how easy going she was. Don't know if i got the job yet because its a new place, but even if i don't, it was a great experience.
