I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Petco in November 2011.
Interview Details – I was called a week later after I applied online. I couldn't pick up the phone so the manager left a voice message that told me to call him back. When I called him back he scheduled an interview with me the following week. He was very nice and I scored a second interview. Sadly the guy who interviewed me next was the complete opposite of me and I didn't get the job.

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Petco.
Interview Details – Well first of all there were 2 interviews. The first one was an open interview that I found online on snagajob.com I believe. Anyways, I went in and was placed in a section where we were all interviewed. Everyone had retail experience, where I felt I was a little inadequate. Next we were interviewed one by one in a large circle where we were asked the same question. Fairly simple, where we've worked, what experience do we have, have we worked with people, with animals. I told them I had experience with many animals including farm animals, guess that looked good on me. But I had hinted that I was here for the fish department. After the interview they had told me that the person with the position i sought after had been there for more than 10 years so they didn't think I'd get the position. I said okay, and left. I got called back, to my surprise, for a second interview. I went a week later, got brought into their office and asked a series of aquatic questions to test if I knew anything about fish. I guess I did okay, because they said I'd start next week. That was my experience with the interview process.

I applied online and the process took 3+ weeks - interviewed at Petco in November 2013.
Interview Details – The interview was very casual and laid back. I was asked about my past employment and experiences related to the job I was interviewing for.
Interview Question – There weren't any tricky questions. Very informal process. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was told they would try and match what I was previously making, but it's unlikely. A couple days later, after having spoken with the DM, I was settled at $2.50 LESS than my previous pay. I accepted, begrudgingly, because I had over two years of experience in this industry and 5+ as a manager.

Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Petco in September 2013.
Interview Details – I filled out an application about a month, month and a half before being contacted. I had completely forgotten I had applied as a grooming assistant/bather. I got a call to ask if I was still and was set up with an interview for the next day. I went. I was asked to "tell me a little bit about yourself" which is always a hard one to answer. I babbled off a bit and awkwardly left it hanging. I was asked if I had any experience, either as a bather or groomer. I hadn't, save washing my own dog a decade ago. I was extremely enthusiastic about the possibility of being paid to wash dogs/be around animals for a job, and apparently that showed, and about a minute and a half into the interview it was confirmed I would be hired, we talked about how commission worked (either hourly pay or 40% commission, whichever was higher), and opportunities for advancement which would be being sent to grooming school if things went well, etc., which Petco would pay for. I was given contact info, signed to give permission to have my background check be sent off, and was given a start date a few days later.
