Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY Dec 2008 – Reviewed Oct 23, 2012
Interview Details – I had an extremely easy entry process. At my MBA program's on campus career fair, Pfizer had a booth and I just happened to talk to them due to the fact that the recruiter grabbed me and wanted to chat with me. I had great pre-MBA work experience (big IT Consulting firm) and after chatting for a few minutes, I was told that I'd be contacted for an interview. I had a quick phone screen with one of the managers and was invited for an on-site interview at NY HQ. I had three interviews, one with a audit manager, one with an audit director and one with a senior director, all on the Finance side.
Interview Question – Why do you want to be an auditor? Truth be told, I wasn't overly interested in auditing, per se, but rather, much more interested in traveling the world. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was offered $105,000, a $20,000 bonus and a $3000 lump sum relocation payment and my goods were moved to NY. I was given a schedule to accept my offer. The sooner I accepted I would get 100% of the bonus. As time passed, my bonus dwindled. I accepted soon after receiving the offer.

Interview Details –
Pfizer, like many big companies today, is being choosy and taking its time hiring candidates. (They may also be indecisive, or both.) That was my experience. The recruiter had told me they'd already spoken to a dozen candidates, and were still "figuring out what the job was" based on who they met.
Process;
Initial phone interview with hiring manager: job responsibilities, qualities they look for (fast moving, hard worker, smart, etc.), culture (same as qualities), asked about work history, describe my experience relevant to their needs.
In person interview with HR: behavioral questions, management style, work style, culture I like to work in, etc.
In person interview with business "client" -- skills relevant to their situation; past work experience. This was the only person I met who showed any of the "Pfizer arrogance" that others told me about, making several unfavorable comparisons of numerous pharma companies (including my former employer) vs. Pfizer. Definitely saw Pfizer as the model for the industry.
In person interview with hiring manager: same questions as phone interview.
Outcome:
Recruiter told me after my final interview that all "went well." Then a few days later that they're "still interested, but still interviewing." Last I heard 6 months after that, they still hadn't hired for the position.
Advice:
Expect a long process.
Know the company -- its business and culture.
Be somewhat deferential, especially if coming from another pharma company. Like it or not, Pfizer people think very highly of their position in the industry.
Be prepared to help them define the job you're interviewing for.
Interview Questions
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY Aug 2009 – Reviewed May 22, 2011
Interview Details – The process depends on the department you work for. Some interviews are very casual. Other groups will try to simulate the environment you will work in. Some interviews are in front of panels. Make sure you talk to the hiring manager in advance so you know what format you will interview in.
Negotiation Details – Very difficult. I found HR to be condescending. Ultimately I got what I wanted, but it is not easy.
