I recently retired and was looking for a part-time job. Interested in photography, I saw a "Now Hiring" sign at the local Walmart photo studio operated by Picture Me. I inquired and was told to apply online, which I did. In about four weeks, a studio manager called me for a phone interview and asked me to come in for a personal interview, which I did. The manager conferred with the district manager, who then conducted a personal interview. The interview process was fine and we got along well. When I called two days later to thank them for the interview, the manager was as cold as ice. I was not hired. Someone later called to explain they had hired a younger person "who had more experience." Right.
