Interview Details – College recruitment interview. Very laid back, getting to know you interview. Not much on the technical side. Really want to see your communication skills and passion for your work. If you are coming out of college with little or no experience you HAVE to intern first. Internship is open ended but generally three months. You must make a presentation at the end.
Interview Question – Nothing really. Tell me about your thesis work? View Answer

Interview Details – On campus interview. Attended an information session the day before. Was very casual conversation, not heavily behavioral. Emphasized discussing points on the resume, and just being able to carry on a good conversation with them. I was not notified for a while until I emailed them a month later to be updated on the status.
Interview Question – No particular difficult question, just be able to explain things on your resume and be able to carry on a conversation with them. Answer Question

Interview Details – Received through campus recruiting. Interview was very laid back, mostly based on resume. No technical questions were asked. If possible, attend an info session to learn more about the company. Make sure you know why you would want to work for them. Received an offer two days after my interview. Very pleased with the process, my contacts were very approachable and provided quick responses to all of my questions.
Interview Question – Would your previous internship hire you back? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Didn't try. Outstanding salary & relocation bonus.
Declined Offer – Interviewed in Lubbock, TX Sep 2011 – Reviewed Sep 12, 2012
Interview Details –
Requested an interview through the university engineering website. Interview was about 30-40 minutes. There was a young engineer and an HR rep. Both had very poor interviewing skills, were awkward, and I found many of their questions off-putting. I felt that it had gone poorly so I was surprised to get an offer 3 days later. My company contact was the engineer who interviewed me, he was very difficult to reach. I was given only 2 weeks to accept the offer, which was very unfair since it was far before any other company was going to follow up after my interviews.
The only thing attractive about the company after the unappealing recruiting process was the prospective pay ($28/hr), which can only be beat by the major oil companies.
Interview Question – If you want to work for an oil company, then why don't you get a minor in petroleum engineering? (I was berated on this topic for far too long) View Answer
Reason for Declining – There was nothing to like about the company after the recruiting process. A better offer came along.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Irving, TX Sep 2011 – Reviewed Sep 18, 2011
Interview Details – Recommend going to an info session. Very friendly, but to the point. No technical questions because they pre-select based on qualifications I presume. They want to know what you do outside of academics. Also, make sure you can explain everything on the resume. Another question: would the previous internship hire you back? They also wanted to know what questions you have for them, then they wrap it up.

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Irving, TX Aug 2011 – Reviewed Aug 30, 2011
Interview Details – This interview was strange from the beginning, as the HR girl struggled mightily to just pronounce my name. She seemed totally disinterested and distracted when she attempted to schedule a date and time for the personal interview. She refused to answer any questions, simply stating that she would send an email. The interview was very poorly planned, so I quickly surmised that the company was poorly managed. Unfortunately, such was indeed true, as the HR girl's lack of professionalism was indicative of the culture of the company.

Interview Details – Only meet the HR Generalist and she was not educated about the position or department that I was interviewing for. Could not answer any of the questions I had about the position. She asked about what lead to my job hunt and other traditional interview questions that she had on a form in front of her. Was not very personable and seemed akward. The questions were easy enough to answer, but she seemed to not be interested in my answers.
