Interviewed May 2009 in Washington, DC (took 2 days)
I went to DC and through a contact that already worked there I was able to meet with the internship coordinator and learn more about the opportunities that should come available in the summer. It wasn't a formal interview but we did talk about my experience and interests.
I next had two phone interviews. The first was basic behavioral interview style questions 'tell me a time when you failed to accomplish something and how you handled it.'
I also learned a bit more about the department and scheduled a follow-up interview with the manager of the department the following week. When I spoke with her she mostly just wanted to get an idea of what types of things I wanted to work on within their department and when I would be available. Must more a formality and informational than the previous phone interview.
Interview Questions

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Jul 2009 (took 4 months)
This was a very frustrating experience. After 4 Phone Interviews 1 full day Interview onsite. References sumitted, called, all favorable results, background testing. This company called to ask if I was still intrested 4mos after the original contact & testing. The position has been heavily advertised and marketed for 11mos. And still no follow-up or response even though all contact was professional ( wrote letters, called and was asked to still give feedback of my interest). Either is was salary (which they mentioned I was at 30k over there highest rate) but no offer was forthcoming or they didn't want to pay relo - which I was willing to split and was more than willing to take a reduction in salary. It would behoove them to make a decision- now the entire team they were trying to assemble is still open- 5 positions all for a great non-profit organizaton. They just need to MAKE a Decision and move forward with their business..
