Interviewed Jan 2012 in Mountlake Terrace, WA (took 5 months)
Multiple data points (multiple applicants). Process was interminable. Company highly disorganized, using applicant's time poorly - to wit, in one instance, more than TEN interviews (including panels), and in another more than FOUR panels. Recruiters had no visibility to colleagues' work stream. Terrible communication/coordination. Poor to zero communication and follow-up; candidates had to repeatedly reach out to company to obtain status. One recruiter extremely rude (unprovoked) and dismissive with mid mgmt and exec. candidates; this was rather shocking. Insincerity: recruiters provide inconsistent reportage wrt process, status, & were unable to explain difference between status/impressions conveyed and final outcome. Basically strung along candidates for extended period (5-6 mos.). Job descriptions were posted prior to co. agreement on role definition. Recruiters indulge in (false?) flattery to keep candidate(s) engaged, but are unable to provide any feedback regarding "no hire" decisions which are at odds with prior communication. Quote: "you are so - enter positive attributes -, that we think you'd be unhappy in our 'crazy culture.'" Basically, come across as disorganized, unprofessional, organizationally dysfunctional and generally unprepared to compete effectively in new health insurance marketplace. Recruiter subtext: suggested that senior execs are threatened by high achievement individuals from other industries. Be VERY careful vetting any offers/positions, and be sure to talk to exec who has made successful transition from other co. and/or industry. Appears active bias against external candidates w/strong pedigrees. Appears very inward-gazing.
