Interviewed Jan 2008 in London Colney, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 days)
I interviewed in London for a Tax Associate positon in the Gatwick office. The recruiters were nice and friendly. I was asked to complete a skilss/IQ test, and complete a case study,I t took about 1hr 1/2. I then interviewed with another HR person 1:1, they said I did o.k., but was too introverted for the position.
Friends who have landed successful jobs with the big4 all say the same thing...they really want/like outgoing people who can potentially generate business for the firm. Fair enough!

Interviewed Feb 2009 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Applied online and got interview easily enough, although the application process is incessantly labourious and online testing is done also which is relatively standard for other members of the Big Four Accountancy firms.
The interview was with one woman, general chat - about background and such, then onto competency based questions, but there was room for back and forth rather than just speaking.
I didn't get it, think I was too nervous. PwC seems a bit dry...

Interviewed Mar 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 months)
Very professional experience and exceptionally friendly staff. 1st interview covered some core competencies.
Assessment stage-repeated the numerical and diagramatic reasoning tests, had to write a short report, followed by a group exercise. All very straight forward. Final part of the assessment was a partner interview. It seemed more like an informal chat and I was made to feel very at ease, and had to find a way to fit in as many examples of core competencies as possible

Interviewed Jan 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4+ weeks)
The initial online application required a short essay on a company that you would like to advise as a Strategy Consultant - I think this was quite important as it was brought up in one of my interviews for quite an in depth discussion.
Next came online tests a couple of days after applying: Numerical and spacial reasoning, standard stuff but with a challenging time limit.
After this an assessment day was arranged in early January. it consisted of:
1:1 CV interview - quite challenging as a lot of commercial questions were asked along with the usual 'examples' of teamwork' etc.
1:1 Case study interview - 5-20 minutes to prep with some briefing notes then the rest of the hour was a discussion with the interviewer. No calculator made this quite challenging as maths under pressure can be quite stressful.
Next was a group exercise. You got some prep time and then discussed the topic for half an hour together. Very important to be diplomatic and not domineering as they're looking for team players.
This was followed by an individual report writing exercise. You had 40 mins to review some information and write a memo for someone within the company. There was no right answer - more important was reasoned logic and clear communication.
The final exercise was a retake of the online tests to check you weren't cheating online. Pretty unnecessary I thought but hey.
Finally there was a lunch with some recent starters so you could have an informal chat.
The assessment day lasted from 9 till 2:30.
If you passed the assessment day there was a final round one week later which consisted of two 1:1 interviews - a CV and a case study one, this time with more important individuals within the company.
Unfortunately the competition was much greater at this point and I performed in the bottom 50%. They took about 16 of the 32 who reached the final round I believe. My weaknesses were a lack of numerical focus in my case study and insufficient knowledge of the company so that's an area to focus on.

Interviewed Nov 2007 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Apply via online application form (make sure you do not lie on this as it is brought up again at the 1:1 interview if you get past this stage
Interview day consists of;
1) A lot of other canditates pretending to know everything - do not worry about them, keep calm
2) 1:1 interview with a senior member of staff
3) Group exercise where you discuss a business case study (fictional)
4) A sort of maths intelligence test

Interviewed Aug 2009 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 4 months)
Interview process took ages, around 4 months to see 3 different people and take tests. I aced the test but didn't get an offer or any feedback. It is difficult to know what they wanted. There was a late substitution in two of the interviews. One didn't know much about my area of expertise, that probably didn’t help plus I got the impression that he didn’t want to be there. I was interviewing for a senior manager / director role and they really didn’t seem to place much priority on recruitment.
