Interviewed Jan 2010 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 weeks)
First informal interview in a cafe with a Director in the group I had approached speculatively via email. Officially this should have been followed by two further formal interviews, but based on the fact I was a senior experienced hire with 18 years experience they decided to do this in one session. It was quite straightforward with another Director from the same group, who had a specialist background similar to mine. The offer arrived by phone call the day after the interview.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Nottingham, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
Applied online, and was allowed to book the specific date and time of my interview. Was rang at the time I chose by a recruiter, and the interview process was explained to me. I was asked a series of competency based questions, and then about the company, my knowledge of it, the programme I was applying for, and what I hoped to gain. Total duration was around 45 minutes, and at the end I was informed I would be rang within 5 days with the outcome.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 months)
Round 1 was a phone interview which was pretty straightforward - HR type - to gauge behavioural aspects of the candidate. It is conducted by an outsourced agency and lasts about an hour.
Round 2 was a numerical reasoning and English comprehension test administered online - takes about an hour and results are conveyed to the candidate within a day or two. if you've done GMATs etc, you would be familiar with this type of test. The results are shown where you rank for your profile compared to an average range.
Round 3 was a 1 on 1 interview - "technical" interview which is based around your work experience and CV and whether you have the skills / experience necessary to do the job.
Round 4 was a group and written interview - the written exercise takes about an hour, you're given a set of circumstances / case which you have to analyse and present your findings on 1 page - designed to gauge your ability to analyse information and present it in a coherent, structured manner.
the next part of this round was a group exercise, where you are placed in a room with other candidates and all given the same case with different roles to play within that case. The group has to reach a conclusion within an hour and judged by a panel of Directors. You will be fed additional information in the middle of the case study and they see whether or not you share that information with the rest of the group. It's like sitting in a cage / lab and being watched by scientists on your behaviour - very disconcerting and odd and you can never guess how you did!
normally there is one additional round which is an interview with a Partner.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Reading, England (United Kingdom) (took 5 weeks)
The hiring process starts with an online application form that is shorter and easier to fill in than most competitors. The amount of guidance was superb. Next was an essay on how the company could offer help to another large company, in the form of services. Then a telephone interview which was competency based, with questions such as "Tell me about an area of finance in the news that interests you?". Once accepted, the last stage is an assessment day, with a group task, another essay, numerical and logic tests and finally a 1 V 1 interview with a manager. Overall the process is very quick, and PwC don't keep you in the dark for very long. I personally had an offer after only 24 hours after the assessment day, so the process is very swift.

Interviewed Apr 2009 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 3 weeks)
I had a phone interview with a London Director (as I was in Australia). The first interview was a discussion on my education background, my current role, clients I worked on and why I wanted to move to London and TS. A few days later, I received a call from the London office and a partner from the London office will be in sydney and could meet me. The interview was with the Partner and a director. Before this interview, I had to do a case study which consist of 45 mins. The case study was to test your technical skill. I had to present my findings to the P and D before the interview. The interview questions were focusing on behaviour and competency questions. 2 days later I got an offer.
