Interviewed Jul 2008 in McLean, VA (took 2 weeks)
Had an initial phone conversation where the recruiter asked what I was looking for. I was coming from an engineering manufacturing company where I had a background in Continuous Improvement and Supply Chain Management. Followed by an in-person interview with two senior associates, and a manger. After that initial round of interviews, I was called the next day to set up a final interview with a Managing Director. Usually they have you interview with Managers and a Director and the final round with a Partner, but I guess this team was different.
I received a call the next business day with a verbal offer where I negotiated for a sign-on bonus. I received the written offer later that afternoon and accepted the offer.

Negotiation Details
It was over the phone with the recruiter. She offered me a base and I asked for more. She said she would check with the Managing Director and came back about 10 minutes later saying that the MD approved a sign-on bonus, but that was as high as they would go.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Washington, DC (took 1 week)
I was initially contacted by recruiter via a professional networking site. After following up on their request for a conversation, I had some discussion with recruiter over 2 days due to my current working schedule. He seemed legit and after some discussion about the company, salary range, and general job description, I decided it was legit and indicated it was OK to share my resume with several hiring managers.
I was told I would not hear anything for at least a week, however within 48 hours, I was contacted about being interviewed for several positions at once. I don't like these types of situations, but the HR specialist was persistent and I relented.
The organization and planning of the interview was very fast, everything was done via e-mail - scheduling, directions, forms to fill out, etc. It was structured, before and during the day of interview.
I was there for a 2.5 hr block, meeting with 3 employees - a manager, and 2 junior staff. It was never clear what the relationship might be, so perhaps they were just throwing out questions to see what I would go after. The interview was pretty much superficial discussion of technology after meeting the manager. I really enjoyed speaking with the manager and we hit it off very well. After that, I was very bored at the level of discussion and wanted to simply leave. I knew that I was not interested and despite a verbal offer, I simply declined to be considered further.
A good environment for a jr to mid level technology consultant. Do not confuse them with the audit practice which is a very different process. Make sure you are clear on who you are working with.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Washington, DC (took 3 days)
Met at nice restaurant the night before for a "social" event. Very great way to meet people in the company. Don't forget, they're all watching you and informally interviewing you.
Went in for formal interview the next day with division i would be working with. All behavior-based questions, no case. Interviewer was not very warm and welcoming, but others were.

Phone interview consisted of basic background/qualifications - basically a review of your resume.
Panel Interview consisted of four different employees interviewing 30 minutes each. The first of which was a security clearance interview - he basically provided HR a thumbs up/thumbs down on whether or not you would easily be able to obtain a security clearance. The next was a somewhat recently hired employee in the Finance department, the next was a lady from HR, and the last was the head of the Finance Department - questions were all relative to the department the interviewers were from. Basic knowledge questions, experience, what you want to do in 5 years, what you want to get out of this job, so on... Very basic and pretty simple structure.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in McLean, VA (took a day)
Got an interview within a few days of giving my resume to a PWC recruiter at a job fair. Interview took two hours, met with two directors and two HR for half an hour each. No tough questions, just short conversations and long Q&As. Offer came the next day, written confirmation took two days -- offer letter was from HQ, not local office.

Negotiation Details
No negotiation. I asked for higher salary and non-tangibles (signing bonus, student loan repayment, relocation expenses). The recruiter was polite but firm -- basic message of "take it or leave it." According to her, signing bonuses are not allowed for the forseeable future.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in McLean, VA (took a day)
Interview was great...more of a conversation than Q&A. No case study. The office building was very nice-- nice facilities and close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Only problem came when it got to the negotiation phase. The recruiter was pushy and I did not like her approach.
Negotiation Details
Appartently this firm does not pay as well as the others (e.g., Deloitte). The recruiter not willing to negotiate is a big red flag for me...but I'm willing to see how things go in the first 6 months. My circumstances may not be the same as yours, so it never hurts to try.

The best advice I can give to potential candidates is to like up you experiences to the bullet points on the resume. In this way, you bring the person behind the resume out. Basically, they just want to figure out if they can live with you for 60 hours plus a week.

Interviewed Sep 2008 in McLean, VA (took 2 weeks)
Very simple process. Applied online and on my school's career center website. Was notified that I would participate in a 1:1 interview on campus. The next day, they invited me to come to the office to meet with some of the other associates and a few partners. Found out about a week later. Overall, it was a very smooth and professional experience.

There was a networking event the night before the interview with current PwC employees. The interview itself was short consisting of only two questions. First, the partner I was interviewing with explained that PwC was not going to lay off any employees throughout the economic downturn and wanted to know what I thought about that strategy. Second, he asked why I want to work in public accounting.

Interviewed Jun 2008 in Washington, DC (took a day)
After having a colleague refer me to an open position, PWC indicated that they weren't hiring at that time. About a month later I was asked to interview for an Associate position within their Government Affairs practice group.
The group was unique to PWC in the sense that they focused more on the legislative side of the accounting/financial world.
The position was in support of two managers, one senior manager, and one vice president, all whom I interviewed with. Overall, the culture of PWC is very strong, and more lively than I expected for what many consider a dull accounting firm. PWC has a lot of government consulting contracts to make gov't work more efficiently. I was impressed by the team, though the role was more support than the legislative experience I had.
