Interviewed Nov 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 months)
I applied through my campus and they accepted about a quarter of the applicants for 1:1 interviews following a short dinner. The dinner was informal with many chances to ask questions and learn about the employees and the company. My interview was also very informal, mostly a conversation, and I was given the chance to tell him things I wanted known about me. I was invited to a Superday in NYC the following month and given five dates to choose from.
On the day, there was an information session, a Q&A panel, three 1:1 interviews, and then lunch with the associates and HR. My interviews were each very different, one being completely about my resume, another being focused on behavioral questions, and the partner interview being very laidback and conversational. In each I made sure to sell what I had to offer the company, what I felt differentiated me from other applicants, and why the company appealed to me--this is what will get you the job, and you need to sit down and think about yourself and your answers to these. What makes you different? What unique aspect of this company interests you (something that doesn't apply to EVERY Big 4 or accounting firm)?
I got the call and the offer within an hour of leaving the lunch.
