I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Principal Financial Group in January 2010.

Interview Details – Applied online through company website. Initial contact to schedule screening interview about 1 week after submission. Screening interview done by telephone with HR rep from Home Office location, very basic questions and review of qualifications. Big question "How would you diffuse a difficult situation?" Not well informed about job position/requirements. Next contact about 2 weeks later, second interview with hiring manager. Again, review of qualifications. Same question, "How would you diffuse a difficult situation?" Also, provide example of teamwork project. How would you take credit for your part...best answer is that it takes the team. Was told that I was the first of the referred candidates, would be back in touch. Email from corporate about 1 1/2 weeks later, pursuing other applicants.
