Very casual interview. I was asked how I would handle an employee with behavioral problems, an employee who was not meeting expectations. I talked about it. We discussed that if I were offered the job that it would be important to go out and gain the respect of the team I was leading.

atrted with phone interview and general questions, followed by an invite to the company HQ. The interview was with 4 people, including the senior VP, followed by a grammar test and then writing a press release. Interviews were very general except for one pompous, insulting guy (A PhD formerly with McKinsey Consulting) who asked the dumbest questions I have ever been asked in an interview.

I applied on or around the first week in April. I was called two weeks later to set up a phone interview. I had the phone interview with a Human Resources Recruiter on the following Tuesday. They told me it could be two to three weeks before I hear anything. That Friday of the same week I got a call to meet with two hiring managers. Went the following Thursday, said they'd make a decision the following week. The following
Wednesday I was asked in for a second interview that Friday. The next Monday I was offered my dream job!!!! I was fortunate I have been in a variety of situations that related to the questions they asked. Between the date I submitted my resume to the day I was offered a position was about 40-45 days.

Negotiation Details
I didnt even think to negotiate. The pay was reasonable and the benefits are amazing. besides I got a position I was trying to get for three years. Weigh out the pros and cons of your current salary as well as benefits before just looking at the dollar amount offered. 401k match is money added to your salary whether or not you actually physically get it on a check, time paid off, medical premiums, etc. Principal has been my ideal place forever and I'm so excited to get started!

Submitted application on 4-15-2011, received email on 5-5-2011 requesting a phone interview with recruiter. Asked about previous job functions at previous employers, salary earned, salary expected and reason for leaving. Asked a couple of scenerio type questions and then described the position responsibilties. Inquired if I had any questions.

Initial interview was introductory in nature. Second interview, at my request, was more detail oriented. Much miscommunication about terms of the "onboarding" and compensation. Extremely difficult to get responses from this individual...many responses were contrary to initial promises made.

This was an internal posting. It was 3 weeks before I heard anything, then an interview was scheduled for the same week. Very favorable interview, was one of two finalists that were being considered. Was told it would be just a few days. Two months (no other communication was received) I received a template email from HR that the position had been filled.
