Interviewed Oct 2010 (took a day)
Personally knew the SVP, who wanted to hire me for the position, which was created for me. Clear instructions given during interview, clear understanding of what was expected and desired, clear understanding of what I had to offer and how I could help the company achieve its goals and strategic plan. Was taken on a tour of the office and facilities; met key players. Was given an overview of issues that management wanted to tackle with my assistance.

Negotiation Details
Higher salary; better terms. Company wanted me to relocate; I was able to get them to accept my commuting every week from home to office (they paid airfare, rental car, hotel). Since I had no desire to move, and they wanted me for the position, I was in a better position to negotiate.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took a day)
The interview consisted entirely of "behavioral" questions that the interviewer read off her laptop. Things like "tell me about a time when you needed information or help from colleagues who kept putting road blocks up". Now that I know about this type of interview (which apparently is increasingly popular) I will know how to prepare for them. But I was not prepared for that one!

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 6 weeks)
Had multiple phone interviews with HR and department head. Followed up every week for about 4 weeks and then pretty much gave up. I haven't heard ANYTHING back since then. Poor follow up skills on the behalf of their HR department

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Ann Arbor, MI (took 2 weeks)
3 weeks after applying for the position, I was contacted by email to schedule a screening interview for the following week: an interview which lasted about 30 min and consisted of questions related to my educational and work background as well as my experiences both working with teams and with using information technology. Also, I was informed that there would be a second interview before job offer would be made.
Despite the fact that the intervening time between the having initial interview and being informed of my status was quite long, my overall experience was positive. I was not offered a position.
