Interviewed Dec 2011 in Sunnyvale, CA (took 5 days)
The interview process at Proofpoint was a combination of structured formality
and casual interaction. The company is doing their best to structure the interview
process to ensure a sense of professionalism, but in my case the schedule ran a bit
long and the list of interviewers I spoke with was somewhat modified. That was
fine with me since I planned for the unexpected, and I was able to meet with
some very senior-level employees. I also believe the schedule ran long because
they were very interested in meeting and getting to know me. So, it was well
worth the time.
The actual interviews and interaction were casual. I felt it gave both parties a
chance to get to know one another. It was very interactive and I had an equal
opportunity to ask questions of them to better understand their business
and their requirements. It was easy to see during the interviews that the
culture is serious in terms of getting their work done but the interaction
between the interviewers was relaxed.
I spoke with a total of eight people over the course of two days onsite.
Some of the meetings were brief and others were longer but none were
over 60 minutes.
Interview Questions
that a program/project manager deals with on a daily basis, and it was
asked. The question was how do you deal with a long list of priorities and
a shortage of resources?
