Interviewed Sep 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 1+ week)
It was abnormal to get a call back a few days after applying online. I went in to the interview and was given a personality and IQ test before talking being interviewed. I did well on both and was scheduled to come back for an interview. At the first interview I was told to prepare for another interview by writing down a list of everyone I knew, who I could sell insurance to. The target was 200. They wanted you to rank the people by how wealthy they are. During this exercise I realized that the opportunity was not suited for me.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 4 days)
I applied online and they contacted me within one week. The initial meeting was not like an interview, it's more like an introduction of their company. They invited me to a seminar that is more detail about the company, but couldn't reach them anymore. They didn't try reaching me as well. It is not my first priority anyways, so I decided to just let it go.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Tampa, FL (took 5 days)
Got one call from a person in Kansas just as a preliminary. She scheduled me for a 1 on 1 interview with the Tampa hiring manager. The hiring manger made a great presentation with all these promises of financial riches if one works hard enough. They want you to give them 200 contacts and try to sell to them. Its not what you think it is, if you know people with money then you can make some cash quickly but there's too many competing insurance firms and if your customer cancels a policy, then you have to give back your commissions. Its good for people who don't need a constant stream of cash and its a significant initial investment of time and MONEY. Money because you have to pay for your own licensing exams and you have to make a lot of calls and drive to a lot of places to pitch your product. Also, you have to create your own leads, and that takes money.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Marlton, NJ (took 3 weeks)
I learned about this position at a career fair. I met with the Manager and she was really happy that I worked at McDonald's and Rita's --customer service skills. After 3 days I got an email saying she wanted to meet with me and a week later I was in her office. At this time, she discussed all the Prudential benefits, training, and what the position consist of, etc. After this meeting I had to take a Candidate Assessment Test (personality test) and later I found out if you failed this test, the interview process is basically over. I passed the test, it was basically common sense and they wanted you to take the more aggressive route as told. I came back to the office a week later which I thought would be the actual interview but we only discussed the test and I signed some paperwork. At this meeting, the manager told me about Project 200, basically a list of 200 people that you know and that could be possible clients for you as a FPA. Personally, I didn't reach 200 but I listed people that I thought would really be interested in Prudential. A week later, I finally had a real interview, it was a 3-person panel interview and they used the general interview questions. We discussed the Project 200 and she wanted me to work on it some more because she thought I didn't have enough people. Two days later I met with the Managing Director who just reiterated what the manager told me the first time I met her. Basically, this position is commissioned-based (you get out what you put in) and they are looking for people who are driven and resilient. The people there are good-natured and helpful but I don't think this is the job for me.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took a day)
Interviewed with 4 individual. All at VP level, no peers. Each person 45 minutes. The chat was quite casual. Only the hiring manager asked formal interview questions. Mostly behavior questions, not much technical questions. Asked things like, who was the best and the worst boss you ever had? Of all your positions, which one you like the best and which one you hate the most, why?
The whole interview process was about 3 hours. No 2nd round needed.
Did not get back a result until 5 weeks later. Turned out that I did not get an offer.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Houston, TX (took 1 week)
Met the Agency Recruiter at a networking event. Very sharp, nice gentleman. Without question, the most informative recruiter I have ever met. Very down to earth, and easy going. Told the good, bad, and ugly of the industry. Having interviewed with their competitors, it was refreshing to get a REAL look at what the industry has to offer. If I do make a decision to change careers, Prudential Houston will be the place for me.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Buffalo, NY (took 2 days)
I got called right after I applied online, really fast. They told me to go to their office and have a test. I went there and the test was mainly behavior questions regarding to your work ethics. Then I was told to watch a video about general information of this position and how people achieve their goals at Prudential. After that two managers came in to interview me. They said I did really well for the test. They asked some simple questions about my background. Then they said that for this position Prudential cannot offer any sponsorship (I'm an international student). So I didnt get the job.
