Interviewed Jun 2010 in East Hanover, NJ (took 4+ weeks)
Started with an on campus recruiter and submitted the online app there. Then took the aptitude and personality test in the office which finished off with an information session. Was asked to compile a detailed list of 200 potential clients. Then had an interview with a panel of managers which was actually not a tough one once getting over the initial discomfort of being so outnumbered. Was faced with rather generic questions.

Reason for Declining
Process was dragged out so long and being that I was finishing grad school at nights they wanted me to start part time, rather than full time which they said I qualified for.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, an IQ/Intelligence Test, a Personality Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Newark, NJ (took a day)
Applied online and received a call about a month later to schedule an interview. Visited their location in Newark. Everyone seemed polite and engaging. First I talked with two people from Human Resources, and then with several different teams to see which one was a proper "fit". All in all a good experience, although the work environment wasn't what I personally wanted.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Newark, NJ (took 2 days)
The interview was very intense with 3 interviews. After being selected to the final round an interview with the VP. The decision was made to go to the outside again. Completely understand, but it would of been nice if a specific reason would have been given why I was not offered the position.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Roseland, NJ (took a day)
The process is convoluted. First you need to answer some prescreening questions when you apply online. If you pass that, they begin to consider you. If you do not pass it, you pretty much get a rejection email right away. I know because I applied several times. After I did not get the rejection for this particular position, I thought maybe they are considering me. I was right as I received a phone call two weeks later asking if I was still looking and interested. The HR/recruiters that called me were very friendly, very nice, and very organized. They told me who I would be meeting with, told me the time schedule and followed up with an email. I was to meet with 3 people (one hiring manager, and two colleagues) consecutively at an in-person interview, about 45 minutes each. One person (a colleague) was a phone interview since she was not able to make it in the office. Good interview. She had some required interview questions to ask me. Then I went into the office and had the following in-person interviews with the other 2 people. They each had a booklet of questions from HR and were required to ask me a specific number of questions. It was quite tedious but I answered enthusiastically. A lot of the questions were regular interview questions spanning to behavioral questions. After my third interview (with the hiring manager), I thought we clicked but he said he still had another week of interviews to conduct and will be bringing the next 2 people for another round of interviews. After that I never heard from them. I followed up with the recruiter 2 weeks later and there was no response. I figured I did not get the job but it would have been nice to get closure. I followed up another 2 weeks later, since the position was still listed as open and accepting resumes. After that call, someone finally called me back and said I was not chosen. I am quite skeptical of all the positions listed on the Prudential site. Why are there so many openings?? Why is it that after interviewing (I was quite qualified for the position) and after the time period they told me they were finisihing interviewing, that the position was still listed on their site as "open and accepting resumes"? I can't understand thhat they would make their employees waste so much time interviewing so many candidates? Each of my interviews were at least 45 minutes long. The employees there seemed very nice. Good security. Free ice cream day when I went so everyone seemed really happy. But despite that, I am not applying for any other positions at Prudential. I did not feel their postings were honest or authentic and I am not sure if they were fulfilling an interview quota, but that is what it seemed like to me.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Roseland, NJ (took 3 months)
It took over 3 months to be interviewed by 4 different people and to complete a writing test, a drug test, and an international background check. They were in no hurry to hire someone, which should have been a red flag. In fact, they did not need another writer at all, and I was idle most of the time. They may have been trying to replace people who left in order to get the head count back up.
If they're not paying much attention to your portfolio, or the best practices of other companies you've worked with, it's another red flag that they're only paying lip service to hiring and developing talent.

Negotiation Details
There was a 40% drop in salary compared to my previous position and it was a take-it-or-leave-it offer. My advice is to ask for more Paid Time Off Days, because they don't give enough for vacation days and sick days.

Interviewed May 2010 in Flushing, NY (took 1+ week)
I received a email from Prudential Financial said that they found my resume on Monster.com and felt that I am suitable for the Financial Services Associate positon. I emailed them back and they scheduled me a interview. That interview actually more like a presentation. They presented the positon description in more details and the expected salary. Later we were asked to completed a math test. 1-2 weeks later I got a phone call from Prudential Financial told me they would like a 1:1 interview. The 1:1 interview lasted about 30 minutes and it went pretty well. Then 2 weeks later (after the background check) they asked me if I would like to start the 3-month training.

Reason for Declining
They hardly offer any salary in the first 3 months. After the first 3-month training, you earn your salary mostly out of the commission. I wanna a real salary

Interviewed Oct 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
I interviewed for the first round for this position on campus. Night before the interview there was a dinner where we had a chance to meet the interviewers and learn about the position. Two senior employees from the Private division interviewed me. Only behavioral questions, very laid back.
