Declined Offer – Reviewed Mar 1, 2013

Interview Details – Applied online, was then contacted by Recruiting manager who asked normal HR type questions (i.e. salary, work authorization, experience). After that I had 4 phone interviews with a Director, manager, senior manager and partner. The interviews were very friendly and cordial mostly wanted to talk through resume and experience. They also set expectations in regards to travel and working hours.

Interview Question – No real difficult questions, again mostly talk through resume and experience and why I wanted to work for PWC.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – got another offer from a different consulting firm that I felt more aligned with where I wanted to take my career. I would recomend PWC however.

No Offer – Interviewed in Boston, MA Sep 2011 – Reviewed Feb 9, 2012

Interview Details – Initially had 2 one-on-one interviews with Directors or Senior Directors. One was a behavior interview, the other was a "mini-case" which he described as just a conversation about the case. Typical stuff, nothing out of the ordinary.

Second round was 3 one-on-one interviews with Partners in the service line. One was a case (again more of a conversation about a business problem and how I would respond to it), the other two were strictly behavioral.

Unfortunately, the HR department choose Sunday night at 9PM to call me and let me know there would not be an offer. Separate emails for post-interview feedback were ignored. While the interviewing process was good, these incidents left a seriously foul taste in my mouth.

Interview Question – What's the hardest thing you've ever done? What's the EASIEST thing you've ever done.   Answer Question

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Gurgaon, Haryana (India) – Reviewed Dec 27, 2012

Interview Details – There would be at-least 3 rounds of interviews. First one would be with someone in your function or could be from HR. Second round is usually a case round and is taken by someone senior such as an associate director or a partner depending upon the need. Firm tries to communicate fairly regarding the process.

Interview Question – Most difficult part would be technical stuff related with the work that is expected from you or if you are doing the same in your current job. This is basically asked during second or third round. Also it can be during case interview regarding handling difficult client situations.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Negotiation is usually done about base location, salary, % variable component. Although in my case there was a limited possibility of negotiation as the offer was universal in nature.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Chennai (India) Aug 2010 – Reviewed Nov 6, 2012

Interview Details – The hiring process is very slow and long winding. I had submitted my CV through a collegue of mine. This colleague fwd.ed my CV to the management team when they were looking for resources with consulting experience. My CV was submitted for the position of Senior Consultant in the Business Intelligence team of PwC Kolkata.
Prior to PwC, I did not have any technical expertise in BI systems and my experience was mainly in Consulting. My 1st round of interview was taken by another S. Consultant who mainly interviewed me on my experience in CRM systems (I had a rich 2 year exp in this part). The 1st round was completely technical and lasted for close to 45 min to an hour. Much later (amost 45 days later), I got to know through my colleague that my CV had been shortlisted for the 2nd round and I had to attend a VC. The VC was mainly to check my previous experience and was taken by a Principal Consultant from Kolkata. Finally almost another 45 days later, I was offered a position. I did not negotiate as the offer was in line with my expectation.

Interview Question – Trying to convince in the VC that my entire post MBA work-experience was relevant to the role that I was being interviewed for.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I mainly negotiated on the joining date as I had to shift my entire belongings and therefore asked for a month's more time. The HR accepted my stance grudgingly after I asked them for additional compenation, commensurate to the degree of additional payments that I had to do.
