Interviewed Sep 2009 in San Diego, CA (took a day)
I had an initial phone interview with the hiring manager. Once I passed the phone screening, I had an on-site interview with most of the staff members in a panel format. I had an offer within a week from the on-site interview. Very impressed with the professionalism of everyone involved.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 2 days)
I was interviwed for this position last week. I initially got a phone call from the hiring manager and after speaking to me for 30 mins called me onsite.
The onsite interview was tiring. I was interviwed by 11 folks !...2 HR and 9 technical. Everyone asked me about my past internship and current expereinces in IC fab and assembly along with statistics analaysis. I answered most questions well but did flounder on a few.
I was primarily a recent college graduate working in semiconductor industry and had noe xperience as a SQE. I was kind of drilled on that but tried to convince them how my skills could be used for this posn. Overall it was good and am keeping fingers crossed !

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Santa Clara, CA (took a day)
Interview was very tough, expect to know every basic and tiny little of 'C' programming, i guess i did not study well, so i did not clear the phone interview
1. say u have 3 files, and a header file which has a static variable declaration in it. you include the header file in the 3 files.. what happens... u get any error or what would happen to the system, and from here on the question flow continues.
2. say you have a 32 bit system, and structure with char, int and double variables. what is the size of structure. again from here on question continues on memory alignment. how is alignment usually performed. and how do you force the structure to have the exact size removing the alignment.
3. program to find little and big endian(yes it was only phone interview) - well this is just 1 line expression anyways..

Interviewed Nov 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 2 weeks)
I had applied on line for the post in October and got a call by the end of October. But it was strange because they never informed me of the phone interview in advance . He asked me what i was doing now and i explained what i'm working on and when i will be graduating. He then asked me about all the project that i had done. Then concentrated on the vlsi project that i had done .Even though i haven't taken any verification courses , i had worked on test benches for my project ,so explained that. He was satisfied with my explanation and told me i can come for an on site interview.
In the on site interview , i had 3 technical rounds each of 30 min, concentrating mainly on the different projects that i have done , plus few basic qs from digital and analog design .But the questions were very direct and simple and mostly related to verification. I got the results of the interview after a week.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 8 weeks)
It starts from phone screens , sometimes they go for more than one screening as they bring out peope to interview with 2-3 different teams which is one reason it takes time. It took three weeks after i was said in first phone screen that interviewer is recommending me for onsite and I should here something from HR within few days to get second interview and finally was called for full day onsite interview. Phone screens are typical and have some basic questions from volatile , static to some RTOS concepts. There was one interview with staffing specialist explaining the procedure and recruitment process, benefits , and after that had 5 1:1 interviews 2 with security team and 3 with Core-BSP and device drivers team
Lot of board work , some engineer asked to write code on his computer
Interview Questions
code was written over board and had to identify problems in it like memory leak , accessing memory location which is not allocated
