Declined Offer – Interviewed in May 2012 – Reviewed Mar 25, 2013
Interview Details – Overall it was a fairly extensive interview process. After applying online, you will have a 30min phone interview with a Regional Recruiter discussing your background, thoughts on the position/company, and other typical screening type questions. After that you will receive a code to take a basic math skills and reading comprehension test that is timed. It's very easy, but you need to be ready to take it as you may be pressed for time and you must do it in one sitting You will also do a video Q&A session via the RJ Reynolds recruiting webpage. You can answer these questions on your own time, but you need to have thought out responses prepared. The "Day on the Trade" portion is next, assuming they're still interested. Applicants spend 5-6 hrs with a Territory Rep visiting accounts and get a first hand experience of what to expect. After this, you will interview in person with a Regional Manager, but I did not pursue that after the DotT experience.
Interview Question – None of the questions are difficult. They're basic, but you need to be able to provide supporting information and provide examples. Answer Question

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Mar 4, 2013
Interview Details – Starts with a phone interview. Then followed by numerous panel interviews. If you make through that you will do a ride along with a DM and another TM. It is a good way to see if you really want the job and see what you will you be doing before the offer.
Interview Question – What are feelings about tobacco? Answer Question
No Offer – Reviewed Feb 9, 2013
Interview Details – Passed the phone interview. Did the webcam questionnaire and the following week I did the DOTT. The District Manager was with us the entire day during the day on the trade. The TM and the DM chatted back and forth the entire day (majority gossip) which left me twiddling my thumbs b/c obviously I could not and didn't care to contribute. At each vendor we stopped at the both were buried into their laptops chatting back and forth nonstop. The only time I felt acknowledged was at lunch when the DM asked me a few questions then it was back to gossiping with the TM. I did not make it to the next step b/c I obviously did not get a good review from the TM. Impossible to get a good review when one has next to no opportunity to contribute to the day b/c you are being treated as a fly on the wall. Completely ridiculous. Their loss though. I already have a second interview with Altria of which I'm confident ill pass then its onto insuring RJ Reynolds continually loses market share wherever I am placed
Interview Question – Trying to get a word in edgewise between two gossiping gals. Answer Question

Interview Details –
Applied online on their website where I filled out a questionnaire and posted my resume. I received an email to continue processing my application and scheduled a phone (screen) interview. During the phone interview, we went over my resume, experience, skills and was asked 1 or 2 behavioral questions like "tell me a time when you missed a deadline for a project and how did you handle it? Tell me a time when you had to take a leadership role, what did you do and what was the outcome?
After the phone interview, I was invited to continue on to the 2nd phase (Communication and Math assessment test and a web-cam interview where you answer 6 or 7 behavioral questions) and the 3rd phase (Day on the Trade with a TM and a Division Manager) of the interview process. I was on the Day in the trade with a seasoned TM and was later joined by a Division Manager who also interviewed me as we were visiting a retailer.
After a 1 1/2 weeks, I finally got the call and invitation to continue on to the Panel Interview which is later this month.
I'll continue my review when I go through the Panel Interview.
Interview Question – Tell me a time when you missed a deadline for a project and how did you handle it and what was the outcome? Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Reviewed Feb 7, 2013
Interview Details – First there is a phone call screen, then there are some video interview questions, then a math assessment, then a day on the trade with a current rep in your area, and finally a panel interview. It takes about 2-3 months for the whole process. The interview system is very structured and not very difficult at all if you are patient. The day on the trade is pretty important because the rep will take notes on you and only recommend you if you seem attentive and ask questions. The panel interview consists of 2 teams of 2 and they fly you out to a location. The first group seemed to be very interested and asked a lot of behavior questions, the second group seemed disinterested and asked situation questions. Read STAR interview questions and you won't be thrown any curve balls.
Interview Question – How are some of the ways you have taken a passion or business and made it grow within the community you represent? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – They will try to work with you and give you a location you desire. Make sure you are certain of the area you want and stick to it. If you say you will work anywhere, they will literally place you anywhere. Working in California you do get a bit of a pay bump. Other than that, you can't really negotiate.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Dayton, OH Jan 2012 – Reviewed Jan 18, 2013
Interview Details – Applied online, 2days later received e-mail to set up phone interview, after phone interview, basic skills assessment, record video responses to questions, on the day trade- shadowing a current territory manager, then the grand finale group panel interview
Interview Question – The group panel interview was the most difficult because you have the senior executive directors, and division managers who are so nonchalant and unfriendly through the interview. I guess its some kind of intimidation strategy. View Answer
Negotiation Details – None, Base salary
