Overall good experience. Had an technical interview in the morning (questions relating to macroeconomics and current market conditions), general interview in the afternoon with HR, Head of Finance and Head of Economics departments, as well as was asked to answer 1 out of 3 essay questions again related to current market conditions and RBNZ's policy.

I applied for a specific job on the RBNZ website. I received an e-mail back telling me that I was not apt for that job, but that they had an unfilled position (for a few years) that may interest me. I got the job description and found it interesting and told them I would apply. I set up a phone interview with two employees where we discussed the job and my qualifications for it. We also discussed the work culture, career advancement opportunities, and how the culture of the institution fit with my personal philosophy.

Able to negotiate a higher salary, higher allowance for moving and storage, and a flight back to the states at the end of the contract.
