Interviewed Sep 2011 in Bridgeport, CT (took 3 weeks)
Online application, plus 2nd degree contact through LinkedIn. HR called three months ago and had a phone interview that week. Then set up one on one interviews with 5 people for a week later because "they want to move forward quickly because they have budget now." Met the team including the President Joe Hoffman. Good people, good interview, not perfect. Send thank you emails, and no one responded....
HR tells me a week later the position is on hold 45 days. At that time, now told on hold til 2012. Seems believable and yet I have see this posted 24 months ago and a peer tells me he met with them for this job 5 years ago! For THIS position, don't get your hopes up.
Advice - Not sure what to offer. Like any job you need to show them you can deliver incremental value beyond what they already know, but if the position does not exist, then it feels like they are merely picking your brain for ideas.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.
