Interviewed Mar 2012 in El Segundo, CA (took 2 weeks)
I was already working at the company, so having an interview was easier than for someone from the outside. The interview was scheduled and I was the last one interviewed. The panel consisted of the department manager (hiring manager), 2 managers and a staff member and was arranged by HR and the department administrator.
The interview lasted for approx. 1 hour and consisted of me giving them a summary of myself, a series of questions from each panel member and a wrap up summary by me. They were going to make a decision within one week of my interview.
I did not hear back from them, but I followed up with them after 1 week. They responded that they had selected someone else with more experience than I had.
The interview was very comfortable and professionally handled. They were accommodating to my schedule and asked canned HR questions --- standard, "safe" questions to ask interviewees.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in El Segundo, CA (took a day)
I applied for this position on their website. A few weeks later and after back and forth with a recruiter I interviewed on site with two team managers. Interview started out with some questions asking me to rate myself on software and tools such as: Rate yourself from 1 to 5 in JAVA, Microsoft Excel, etc. They went on to ask questions related to my experience and behavioral type questions. Very easy and straight to the point interview.
Though the title was a software engineer, the position itself was definitely not for software engineers. This position was going to focus on configuration management systems, which was not something that would have really fit me anyways. Got a call the next week, letting me know they hired somebody with experience in configuration management systems.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in El Segundo, CA (took a day)
Met with a group consisting of the software engineering manager and two other employees. Almost seemed like they were speed-interviewing since the entire interview was scheduled for only 30-minutes, and I was almost rushed out so that they could get to the next interview candidate.
Interview consisted mainly of describing my experience of the software development life-cycle and related processes of my prior job; no highly technical questions asked. Didn't get a tour of the facility, so it would have been hard to know if it was a fitting place to work.
From reading other reviews, it seems like the interview format varies based on the interviewer or department. It was a strange interview, but I don't have any major complaints. Got a rejection email 2 weeks later.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in El Segundo, CA (took a day)
Very generic questions. Subjects like when did you take initiative in some project, how did you deal with a non cooperative team, etc. Quite easy to prepare for if you think or find generic questions and think of responses. The rep was very helpful though, with a lot of insights into the company itself and the hiring process as a whole.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in El Segundo, CA (took 2 months)
First interview was scheduled later in the afternoon after a college career fair. I met with the recruiter on campus and had a 1:1 interview for 20 minutes. Recruiter mainly asked questions about college coursework and any specific projects that related to supply chain management. Recruiter was very friendly, informal, and made the interview a very positive experience.
One month later I was contacted by a person from Human Resources. She mentioned that the company was interested in having a second interview in person with the hiring manager. The company flew me out to LA for the day and paid for the flight and shuttle service to the building. The second interview was with the hiring manager and human resources representative. The interview lasted about an hour and half. First half of the interview was a list of general questions fielded by HR. The second half included more conversation about the company's culture, responsibilities, and the company in general. HR then discussed the benefits the company offers including 401k, medical / dental, Paid-time off, and flex working schedules.

Very well put together process. All accommodations taken care of. Had an interview at school, was asked a few screening questions. Offered to go to an on-site interview. Yet to hear back. Heard Raytheon is much like school. Lots of mentors and training. Even have free classes.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in El Segundo, CA (took 4+ weeks)
While initial contact was pleasant, the time required (on their side) to set up the interview was excessive, given that they asked me to apply for the specific position (my resume was on file). From initial contact to interview was roughly a month. The panel interview was actually a single questioner with three other "listeners" on the panel - and no one on the panel was able to provide me with their business cards (not that they didn't have any with them, but none of the "interviewers" had ever been issued business cards, based on their statements, leading me to believe that none of them were managers).
They questioned me extensively about my past work, stressing technical questions rather than managerial/people skills.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
The position was misidentified as a management position; it was actually a lead engineering position with minimal management duties (75% technical minimum duties by their own statement, as an "individual contributor", with a stated maximum of 25% functional management responsibilities).

Interviewed Nov 2008 in El Segundo, CA (took 8 weeks)
I had an interview after a college campus info session, and then an on-site interview two months after. I received an offer three months after my final interview. The whole process was slow until I received the offer. Then, it felt rushed.
Both interviews were behavioral. All expenses were paid for the on-site interview.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in El Segundo, CA (took a day)
I interviewed for a new college graduate position. There were maybe about 75+ students or recent graduates interviewing for maybe 4-5 different groups. Most students were from colleges from all around the US, with numerous from Ivy League or similarly ranked engineering schools.
Overall the entire process lasted from approximately 8am to 3pm. First, they provided breakfast and had some presentations for about an hour. Then they split everyone up into groups of approximately 15 and had tours. The tours were kind of long and lasted almost 2 hours. Then they provided a catered lunch and interviews took place after.
Since I interviewed with 2 groups at SAS, I was interviewed by 3 people total, 2 from one group and 1 from the other. Each lasted approximately 20-30minutes. The interviews are all behavioral. They do ask a lot about coursework and stuff from your resume. I never really figured out what they were looking for exactly, as I have not had much experience with interviews.
