Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 1 week)
A recruiter found me via LinkedIn, and called me. He was very nice, professional and excited about being a part of ReachLocal. We had a very informal interview during our first converation where he gauged my interest. At the end of the conversation, we both decided to move forward.
The recruiter coached me about what to do, what to say, and what to wear to my in-person interview with the RSM (regional sales manager). It made me think that the recuriter gets paid a commission based on his applicants being hired or not. No problem, though. I appreciated his insider's point-of-view.
After the RSM, I was asked to speak with AD (area director). He was great. Gave me background on his position in the company and asked a few very basic questions. Why do you want to work here? He put me at ease immediately by telling me the RSM already suggested that they hire me, and that this interview was really for me to make sure that I wanted to work for ReachLocal.
At the end of the call with the AD, he told me his only reservation was that he was not sure I would stay through the ramp up period because the low base salary. -- $36,000 - $40,000.
The recruiter called the next day and offered me the position. Then I had to speak with his HR supervisor for a review of what was to come next -- a background check whcih inlcuded submitting my last w2s. That part was a little annoying, but I complied. A third party company will verify your last employment and they are sticklers for dates, so be very careful about that.
This whole process took about a week, from me being found online to getting the job offer.
Once I received the offer, then it was time to study for my pre-BootCamp test. You are required to take an online test the Friday before you go to BootCamp in Dallas. ReachLocal pays you for your time taking the test. The HR departmetn is very specific about the items you are supposed print and bring with you to BootCamp. They are not kidding if you do not do it, then your BootCamp is delayed.
BootCamp is an intensive week-long training in Dallas, TX where all new employees go to be submerged into the ReachLocal culture. It is very organized, and very informative. I was impressed.
What's more impressive is the group of people they bring to BootCamp. Everyone there was sales rep of the year or month at their previous jobs -- mostly from the print, radio, and YP backgrounds.
If you are luck enough to make it this far, be prepared to study every night in the hotel room for your final exam on Friday. You must pass the exam in order to keep the job. Our instructor was awesome, she made sure that we prepared for the exam. BootCamp is just the beginnig. There's more training once you get to your local office. Good luck.

Negotiation Details
No real negotiation. You must show a w2 with recent income in excess of $80,000 in order to receive a $4-$6K bump in your starting base salary. And then, after 12 months it will go back down. Their goal is to have everyone at the same base salary in a given market. (i.e. NYC has a higher base because it is a higher cost of living than in Louisiana.)
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Background Check.

Solicited by recruiter via LinkedIn. Keep your LinkedIn profile accurate and up to date. Very organized vetting process with resume submission, phone interviews and later in person office with manager and later area director. No stupid questions like where you plan to be in five years. Very professional. People are great, culture is outstanding and the office is typical with cubicals. Add a ping pong table, big screen, coffee and water to sweeten the deal. Best place I've worked at in a long time and better yet, products really work. Ideal career path for ex Yellow Pages reps who want to work in an environment with integrity, team support that values a work ethic and serving clients.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 2 weeks)
Applied online. Recruiter called me the next day. Did an initial phone interview to go over my experience and skill set. Did a 2nd phone interview with the manager of recruiting. Finally did an in person interview with the hiring manager. They decided to offer someone else the position. Although I didn't get the position, I am very satisfied with the interview process. Everyone was very straightforward and very direct. Classy organization. Definitely recommend that you have HEAVY cold calling experience (100 calls per day) working for another company, otherwise you will probably not get the job.

Interviewed May 2011 in Charlotte, NC (took 1 week)
Very unprofessional and dishonest recruiting. Why work for anyone with zero integrity and no follow through.
I was contacted by a recruiter shortly after I submitted my resume for a phone interview, and quickly moved into a one on one interview with the RSM which went "very well" and it was suggested to take the next steps.
The recruiter stated if it indeed went well that I would have a short second interview which we tried to coordinate, in order to get me to training on TX. We exchanged emails about dates and she stated we definitely will have you in first of next week.
I never heard another word from the recruiter or the hiring manager, after several attempts to follow up via phone/email.
I actually had another offer from another company that I stalled on committing to, until I had the second interview, and waited while missing both opportunities.
ZERO integrity.

You will be contacted by a recruiter. The company's co-founder was a former recruiter, and they are salespeople. They will tell you how much their top 10% make. I am a great salesperson, and I wasn't even close. They will sell you on the company. They are professional salespeople, so don't buy their crap.

Really impressed with the Recruiter, that I dealt with. He is a recruiter hired exclusively by Reach Local. Telephone interview, application, then you filled out a word document addressing questions, such as areas you think you need improvement in, as a Sales Professional. If you get past this screen, you will be interviewed by local manager...if you get past this step...you will be phone interviewed by Vice President...from there...you will either be contacted back with a form letter of rejection...or a phone call , telling you to come in and review a formal offer.
